I live in Vancouver. I've watched hockey for decades. When I was young, I had seasons tickets for the New Westminster Bruins. I saw them win the league championships 4 years in a row. Then, they went to the Memorial Cup championships and lost the first 2 years but won the next 2 years. They played in Queens Park Arena in New Westminster which has about 3500 seats and for several years every seat was full and the standing room had a couple of hundred people as well. They were absolutely the most dominant team in the league for about 4 years and teams absolutely feared going to New Westminster. We saw hundreds and hundreds of 1 on 1 fights, dozens of line brawls and at least 6 full scale brawls with every player on the ice fighting. Good times for a teen ager. My very frist Bruins game was also Stan Smyl's first game. I saw his entire junior career, then I moved over to the Canucks and watched his NHL career.
