Exactly! Hronek is a great OFFENSIVE defenseman. He is not a good defender. Exactly why we need DeKeyser back and or find a top pairing defenseman that plays defensively.
They need to tank this season and hope for the #1 pick. Redwings had their run but they need to rebuild. You cant compete in this league without two gener as ti im nal talents. Is zarina one of those guys, maybe, but dont see him being as good as a zetterberg or a datsyuk, those guys were pretty special out the gate and weren't sent down to the minors in spite of playing on a team loaded with hall of Famer. I hate to see them lose but they need a top 3 pick, then they need to wait out blashills contract and get somebody new. These players have regressed, even larkin, and you can see on the ice they dont believe in the system they're playing under or the coach theyre playing for, even the veterans look terrible and constantly second guessing themselves. Sure injuries dont help, but i would hazard a strong guess that blashill is over coaching these guys, just by the way they play like robots out there, incapable of even making a decent entry on the power play, everyone's second guessing themselves, well except for zadina, and suprise suprise, all the other players that havent been in the system for more than a season, this team, even with their injuries, is talented enough to have been way better than the laughing stock of the nhl. But I'm confident theyll make the right decisions under stevie, so I'm not worried and kind of hoping that this is stevie's plan:tank this season, get a possible generational talent in the draft, hope either zadina or larkin can be a generational talent, I still believe Larkin can be, dump blashill or wait out his contract, and get a free agent stud defenseman and they'd be back on track to make another run.
