Who are our 2025-26 pre-season top-10 San Jose Sharks prospects?
In a throwback San Jose Hockey Now Podcast segment, it’s just Sheng and Keegan together again to reveal their top-10. How much are Quentin Musty, Cam Lund, and Eric Pohlkamp trending up? Who’s No. 2, Yaroslav Askarov or Sam Dickinson? Where do 2025 Draft picks Michael Misa, Josh Ravensbergen, and Haoxi (Simon) Wang rank?
The general cut-off for prospects for this ranking, by the way, is 50 NHL games.
Before our top-10 prospects talk, San Jose Sharks legend Dan Boyle, Sharks Ice beer league champ Zubair Jeewanjee, insider Sheng Peng, and prospects guru Keegan McNally discuss all the hot Sharks training camp topics.
18-year NHL veteran Boyle weighs in on the idea of a fourth-liner like Barclay Goodrow being named Sharks captain. We discuss Jack Thompson perhaps being at a crossroads in his Sharks’ career. From Misa to Will Smith to Alex Nedeljkovic to Philipp Kurashev, who impressed in the Sharks’ pre-season debut?

I love that Boyle is sticking up for a fellow player and I agree with almost everything, but the eye test AND the advanced analytics showed he was legitimately one of the worst players in the entire NHL last year. And that's with him actually getting opportunity in the middle/top 6. He had a great playoffs with NY just before he got waived so you know that he still has the ability SOMEWHERE but it's unacceptable to name someone the captain who's played that poorly.
Can we get the click-bait title “BARCLAY GOODROW ENDED KEEGANS ENGAGEMENT” 😂
Here we go. Boyler. Moscow Mule
I remember being out there with Murray in Santana row.
Love the show. Peng, we REALLY need to get you on a SM7B etc. That mic is peaking badly.

Who’s that voice on the sharks. It matters
Is there some sort of weird editing in this podcast? Like all empty air is edited out, and it's sometimes cutting off parts of words too. Not a fan personally, I think there's no issue the way it was.
Asky let’s get it going
mcdavid was named captain going into year 2. By your guys logic you wouldve rather seen Mark letestu named captain over mcdavid and then give it to him later. Idk to me that just seems pointless bc everyone knew it was gonna be mcdavids team anyways. I dont think age will be a factor in the decision I think its more probable that dont run a captain again if they feel celebrini isnt ready. I personally dont think the pressure will be anything hes not already recieving and they should name him captain. being called the future face of the league but were arguing captaincy will be too much pressure LMAO
Waive Delandria or Goodrow of you need a contract spot for Misa, Dickenson and Musty
Goodrow needs to be waived, not named captain. The guy has heart but he's way beyond washed
Since you guys bring up bands, have you ever listened to the Japanese rock scene? I recently found out about it, weirdly from listening to the soundtrack from Peacemaker (James Gunn music lists are fun) and that's where I discovered Band Maid. Turns out it's one of the most interesting and diverse hard rock bands I've ever heard. They've been around a decade now and have quite the variety of music. Check out songs like Warning, Manners, Blackhole, Domination… also, live is the best way to listen to them.
