Mitchkov is here to stay, good or bad. Zegras will get a year at center, another at wing if center doesn't go well. Then who knows. Tippett is about to have his 'show me what you got, or prepare to pack your bags' year.
I can’t stand Kelly. I’m sorry, call me chauvinistic but she’s never given me any inkling that she knows anything about the sport of hockey. As far as girls go with her opinions, she just sounds like a girl. Team is up 6-1 and on the power play, it’s pretty much an unwritten rule to not embarrass the other team late in the game. If Kelly is unaware of this, game a new job.
As for the Dale Weise comments. I’m sorry, tough to argue. Mike Richards and Jeff Carter had a noted rift with Peter Laviolette by not taking things serious and I think Chris Pronger was in lockstep with Lavy. Not to mention when Kevin Hayes was on the scene. Heavy rumors Hayes and Giroux were on opposite sides. So to sit here and say “players didn’t like Weise” is just dismissive.

I'm surprised that there isn't more discussion, and a general consensus that handing the "C" to G ahead of schedule, when it should have clearly gone to Kimmo Timonen, who was no doubt the leader of the team, didn't have some degree of lasting effect on the organization. That era then segued into the true leaders of the club being Simmer and Sarge, which brings us to the present day, where it might reasonably be contended that for a good while now, this particular emblazoned letter has served a far more ceremonial and decorative purpose, than an actual functional one….

I knew Kelly was going to pick up for those two. Giroux was a fraud to begin with and I can see him being this way.
I have amnesia for the Flyers from after the Stanley Cup finals in 2010 up to 2023 when Briere took over so I can care less to hear ANYTHING, good or bad, from the ENTIRE organization, including both players and mgmt during these dozen years …
He is special…remember how towards the end of the season he promised hat tricks and did everything he could to get one. Love that side of him. That kind of determination, that drive, is rare in any athlete.
The only thing about what Weise stated is I don’t hear the guys that were on the team at that time coming out and calling it BS. Sometimes silence speaks volumes.

For Weise about Giroux, when someone talk of whats going on the inside the locker room wich could explain all those bad years, you should listen instead of discrediting the person who share the informations….very disapointing of you today guys…just look at Ottawa when he arrived he had the mandate to help young people to play the good way but instead of being that, he just wanted to score points with tkachuk and Stutzle in order to extend his career….No wonder why tkatchuk like him, he dont need to step up his overall game in his presence ….
You guys probably missed it, but Jake Voracek got a job as a color commentator for czech tv last world cup. And he was VERY good. Would love to see him rip Weise a new one.
