  1. I’ve only heard these rumors from one source and that was months ago. Watching Marty in practice, he looks extremely happy. He’s not signing until one of the others reset the market. Colorado needed two years of relief for the cap to increase. They have the money next year. They get it done.

Also, it’s easy to look back and regret how things unfolded. But we don’t know if mikko would have signed for 12. He kinda was beat into submission. But that 3M was important to give the Avs a chance last season and the 5.5 is VITAL this season. The all in on the top line model isn’t working for teams. I think the Avs made the right decision. I’ll always miss mikko, but it needed to be done.

  2. How many times does the obvious have to be stated? The cap is going up. Kirill Kaprizov was offered how much more than Draisaitl is making, and yet we're wondering if an 85 point guy is worth 10mil per year?

  3. Rantanen wanted more than 12 when in Colorado by the way, took 2 teams saying no before he was willing to accept that. Your theoretical would be Rantanen at 14 or Necas and Drury.

  4. We'll see how Mikko goes not being with MacK this season. Moose is known to go on hot & cold streaks. It will be interesting to see how many points he can get.
