Buffalo Sabres goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen spoke to the media following practice on September 25, 2025. This was Luukkonen’s first practice of Training Camp after sustaining a lower-body injury before the start of the season. He gave an update on his rehab and his expectations for the season. He also discussed the addition of goaltender Alex Lyon and Alexandar Georgiev and how the competition will be good for the group.

I think it's a conference thing. He doesn't believe in himself. Watch again how he was asked by the female reporter on what he worked on specifically….. He didn't give a good answer, his words and brain was in a constant battle, doesn't look the reporters in the eyes with confidence…. I hope I'm wrong, but wouldn't be surprised if I was. The fact that we got another goalie so quickly, tells me what the organization feels about the lack of trust with UPL. Gentileman, I think we are going with a 3 goalie tandem
He seems miserable. Is he like this all the time. Depressing!
