  1. I have faith. I think he'll bounce back. From my POV, it reads like Barzal's injury messed with his head a little, which makes sense. I'm sure his re-gained confidence after healing up will help.

  2. I honestly would not be angry if barzal got traded. I love the dude and he’s amazing but he is getting injured way too often, I’m sure a team would over look that and give something great for him.

  3. Matt I’m sure you’ll agree it’s refreshing to have both the islanders and the jets have a quite possible bright future. I’m so excited

  4. This is the year to cash in on Barzal (if he has another injury plagued season) then hang on and hope his value goes up – but if he is having a good season, ask for the moon and take it! Barzal is a soft first line player – there are so many other guys I rather have or style of players I rather have – Barzal is easy to push off the puck, not much on defense or fore/back checking ability, always seems to be hurt or a hit away from injury, doesn't exercise his skills to take over games, control games, or be a leader. He plays like a second line guy, paid like a first with first expectation and second line results. Move on!

  5. This is Barzy's second shattered kneecap. He shattered his other one in Junior. Now he has a matching set. Once you have surgery you're never going to feel the same. Figure you'll see 90% of Barzal for at least 3/4 of the season. But it's not like he goes end to end like McDavid. He'll still get to the offensive left circle, curl and set up there. Mitch Anderson, go to an Orthopedist. Maybe you need a cortisone shot in your AC joint.

  6. Skill players shouldn't be blocking shots….PERIOD. I'm not a fan of shot blocking because it results in so many injuries when the goalie probably would have made the save anyway. How many goals are scored because the puck deflected off a shot blocker or the blocker created a screen? Shot blocking should be limited to d-men covering the open side of the net. Otherwise, if you're in front of the net, get out of the way and let the goalie see. Also, stick blocking should only be done in desperation on the open side.

  7. Barzal is far from the only professional athlete who got injured and never healed completely. I don’t think that means he is over or he won’t be nearly as effective as he was before the injury.
