Some good advice I got from a local pro was to wait to get fitted unless most of you misses on the club stay in and are not shanks or hooks but slight movement. Working the ball helps but hitting it straight is the key when starting out. Don’t swing as hard as you can back and ram the club forward either, that’s the biggest problem I’m seeing with young kids on the course. They have no timing or fundamentals just swing away and pray. Also side note but if you golf bad than golf fast. No one wants to sit behind a bad golfer that is also slow.
Add up the cost of a fitting, new driver, new irons, new fairway woods, and a new putter and you're probably at $2K to $2.5K. My game and 3 times a month playing don't justify that cost.
If you can afford it, do it.
I have been playing for over 3 decades and my "fittings" were at a local golf store and they said "you hit this one the best, so buy the set of irons". So i have a titleist fitting in august for a full bag fitting where we are going to fit every single club to me rather than a set. I can mix and match each club to fit to me. They will even tell me what ball type of ball is best.
Why does Tiger look like he's generated by ai lol
Problem with fittings is they don't care about your skill they only care about selling. They will manipulate the clubs to fit you on mats indoor. Talk numbers bla bla.. i see so many golfers being excited to hit the new clubs and when they play on gras.. they can't strike the ball.. fitting for a 7 iron isn't the way to go.. golfers are getting worse and worse these days and I blame fitters and salesmen and fittings on mats.. everyone can hit shoots on mats..
And no I don't talk about master fitters like Trottie.. average fitters who just want to sell.. spoke with a guy that got fit for Titleist 620 mb .. got the clubs and sold.them for 1/2 price.. brand new blades.. he hit the 7 great on mats.. well the freaking mat is going to hide your fat shoots.. put your money on coaching and practise people! Forget about trackman numbers of the mats..we play golf on grass!
The best thing you can do as an amateur golfer is get fitted for a backpack for your trips into the woods.
Timmy is the guyyyy
Take a lesson or two and THEN get fitted for clubs.
Never been fit and im a 5 handicap. Not getting one until im around a 2
Tiger always looks like he's about to start crying. Even when he's smiling
If you aren't a single figure golfer getting custom clubs is a total waste of time and money. Most mid handicappers need regular shaft regular lie etc etc and need to work on how to use those rather than thinking they can buy a game. I don't know how many times I have seen 20+ players using a 9 degree $1500 driver and hit it 200yds max, total waste of money.
fun for several hundred or thousands of dollars. would be nice but…is it worth it when your swing is inconsistent and you pay for a fitting that may not really fit a year or two later?
That didn't sound like one piece of advice to me
A no oractice “average” golfer is foing to be an average golfer shooting between 95 and 105 every time. He could use two clubs ant a cricket bat and shoot the same. The key is that you know you are not and never will be tiger. So accept your fate, compliment your horrible golfing buddies, move along and smell the roses. It is a beautiful day. Don‘t screw it up
Consistent golf swing then get fit. Duh.
Fitting weren't jumpin like that till.clubs could be sold online never forget that
Didn’t answer the question
Im single-scratch golfer and play 2-3 times per month. I play old callaway x-tour irons s300 shaft, taylor r15 with x shaft… If i get fitted with new clubs and shaft would i see improvement in distance?? And how many yards would i gain?🤔🤔
Is it just me, or did he say absolutely nothing at all?
Tiger is a bro
He's fitting into Trumps family just fine. Smh Tiger.
It's not the club, it's your swing. Anybody over a 10 handicap has no business getting fitted.
Played with a guy two days ago who got fitted for a new driver. Paid $550 for it and didn't break 100.
Get a fitting for your bad setup makes sense. That way you'll need another fitting after instruction and lessons. 😂
Lessons lessons lessons, a great golfer can play just as well with older clubs as newer.
If you can somewhat consistently repeat the same swing then getting fit will almost always help, and it doesn't have to be a good swing. It won't help if you are wildly inconsistent though. If you're slicing one shot and hooking the next, or one's coming out really low and the next is a sky ball then there's no way to help someone by changing out club heads, shafts, lofts, or lies. That person would benefit much more from taking a few lessons.
Tip from John Daly for amateurs, get fitted for grips get bigger grips
Did they cut out the part where he gave the advice?
I have learned the best way to comfortably get 15 more yards out of a 6-iron is to hit a 5-iron.
I can’t even hit a club 15 yards.. where do I sign up
TIGER WOODS WAS A DRUGGIE! GOT WHERE HE GOT BECAUSE OF PERFORMANCE ENHANCING DRUGS! HES A TERRIBLE HUMAN BEING! WHY WORSHIP SUCH A CHEATER??
Or you can just be a poor golfer like me and use stock standard clubs I bought 17 years ago. 😂 Still great clubs!
No diddy
Subtle sales men
An extra 15 yards in what direction tho? Asking for a friend.
You need a decent swing before getting fitted. A repeatable swing
The average golfer cant afford the cost of getting a fitting done
2 things my coach said I need to ensure if I was going to get fit. 1st get fit for a ball, and then the grip! Make sure you try different sizes of grips!
Yeah another 15 yards out of bounds to the right.
tiger doesn't know what a average golfer needs, because he has never been one. Accuracy and course management is more important than distance for the average dude
Alot of golfers have no clue what there doing.
Get lessons.
The fitted clubs won't help if you can't hit a golf ball .
Lessons would help 1st before getting fitted for clubs.
New golfer here I was told not to get your clubs fitted…. But get your grips fitted! Asking for a friend?!
