Bourne was coming off as such a Leafs hater this episode. It was evident when Sam and Kyper were trying to discuss what McDavid to Leafs looks like, and he kept on trying to steer the convo back to the LAK contracts.
Leafs are absolutely one of the three McDavid destinations, regardless of whether you like them or not

1 who has the assets to make a trade for connor along with the cap space for rest of salary for the year its not your maple laughs along with who has a chance to win cup with both assets and space not Panthers not vegas I do think Utah has good team better than most realize and getting stronger and both areas covered Maybe the habs Rangers are a shitshow Dallas has no cap Jackets dont have a chance Calgary does but can u really see connor going there? So find a logical team to trade with because i cant really find 1 unless its Utah but again they have weak goaltending but they do have an owner with bucks to spend
Kiper get your lips off the teams arse and look at how short the players are it not like that max has been this high for anyone till now and it's not their problem because it's a billion dollar business and getting well is completely normal for real life ….the leagues pr dept is going to need control and the players are not going to put up with that one

Where’s McDavid even supposed to go? 😅 LA? No way… Anaheim, Buffalo, Columbus? Sure, they might have cap space, but ‘contender’ they are not. Montreal? Maybe some room, but still not exactly a Stanley Cup hotspot. So yeah… good luck finding a team where he can chase the Cup and not do it solo. Maybe a trade to the Rangers or Panthers could work, but who knows if they can make it happen. But does he give the YES for some TRADE?…..I thnik TRADE is only option for him to play for soem serious contender….otherwise…….interesting to think about this one

Boys, really glad to see and hear you again. Glad your summer was good (other than Kyp's injury – ouch). I'm looking forward to the Leaf's season this year; I believe it will be interesting to say the least.
The idea that a player (McDavid, Kaprisov) OWES the club an opportunity to trade them to get something before their contract ends makes ZERO sense. Teams have no problem trading players when and if it benefits them, even if the player doesn’t want to be traded. Players are under no obligation to do anything but play their best for the duration of their contract. That’s it!
Is Kipper insane or just looking at the Marner situation too close. McDavid wont leave Edmonton.

The conversation is not even as simple as “you can’t just let him walk”. He has a NMC he is not getting traded
McDavid and Oilers typically have a subpar start October November can’t imagine this time. Pressure Distraction..hoping he finds a different destination. Signing on with original team for back half of career he will need to feel no regret doing so.
I think McDavid is basically saying to the Stan Bowman "UPGRADE!" or at least make some concerted efforts. Every team wants to bring in top players – and it is hard to do that – because all teams are vying to do that. But I think McDavid wants more action in terms of personnel changes. A viable goalie change would probably help, although I think S Skinner is going to continue to improve.
