I think it’s incredibly stupid when people say that the players union wants McDavid to make a max deal. This doesn’t benefit other players at all. In fact, if Connor takes less, that means there is more cap for other players. I’m sure the NHLPA would like more players paid vs just one making a huge sum
So after September 15th I don't think 8 years is available anymore. I'm not sure if max term is 6 or 7 (think it depends on if you're drafted in a city or not). Connor will figure out what Connor (and Lauren) are going to do when they figure it out. While a lower Cap hit would be great I'd rather have an extra year or two of term with a little higher Cap hit. Just saying.
One player does not win the Stanley Cup by himself – Bouchard should have also taken a discount. And wouldn't that just frost Kaprisov off, if McDavid signs for less than what he was offered by the Wild (karma).

Maybe 97 should take lower with a big bonus if his name gets engraved on Lord Stanley. That way there should be cash to upgrade positions if required. Saw highlights of the split squad games and there are some bright spots. Will be interesting who makes the roster. Thanks for update.

In these games, like when there is an overtime win, why don't they say "ok we won, but lets practice a shoot out" and have a shoot out. Why can't there be a shoot out? its fun for the crowd. They are there to entertain aren't they? its good practice also.
