  1. Bernie was number one and more than just jersey. One of the few NHL players and the first to get their face on time magazine. He gave to hockey the community and his family. And as a 12-year-old kid and as a fan of hockey, many days I wished I was Bernie Parent. He will be missed and will be remembered more for what he did off the ice than he did on and what he did on ice was pure magic. Goodbye Bernie thank you

  2. No Bernie no Cups.
Only the Lord saved more than Bernie Parent.
And now he gets to meet him.
    RIP Bernie Parent
    My all time favorite Flyer.

  3. Now the 🥅 is empty…there would be many many stories…but not today, rest in peace SIR.Bernie M.Parend LEGEND 🥅. J&B thank you for the dignified memory……

  4. This is truly terrible news about Bernies passing. His goaltending and that 1st cup winning team is THE reason that I became a die hard, life long fan of this hockey team AND the sport as a young kid growing up in the 70's. I bet he really was a super guy to chat with Jason and a huge influence on so many of his friends, aspiring goalies and hockey fans everywhere. Sorry for your loss as you knew him personally. He will be a huge loss to hockey, but his name will forever be in the rafters, the hof and our hearts. My absolute heartfelt condolences to out to Bernies family. God bless!

  5. Yes so sad to hear about Bernie ❤loved the young Flyers as a kid fell in love with the team always had the time for everyone 😊with love from Calgary Ab Canada ❤

  6. I was born in 1973, and I met Bernie Parent 1 time and he cracked jokes in the arena cause he couldnt believe how tall I was when we took a picture. I am 6'11 and he felt like I little kid standing next to me. 😅 Rest in Peace. Wish I was old enough to remember those Cups in 74 & 75

  7. Cried as a child when I was listening to the game Live over the radio and had the eye injury.. Met him in person once as an adult and he was kind and gracious. RIP #1

  8. God bless the Parent family. Have been a Flyers fan since 1972. Had the pleasure of playing pkup hockey with his sons Bernie Jr and Charles. Such great people!

  9. I was 9 years younger old when Bernie made the skate save off a Ken Hodge slap shot in game 6 of the cup finals, down in a split the most graceful save I’ve ever seen. That save made me want to be a goalie, first on the street and eventually on the ice. I had several opportunities to meet Bernie but the most memorable was when he came to a practice where I was coaching Springfeild elementary (Delco) and my hockey hero called me coach. My list of hero’s is short, first is my father and next is Bernie and that’s it. Only the lord saves more than Bernie Parent. RIP
