On the tweet that broke the news, there were maybe like 3 Canucks fans who were upset about it, everyone else was just all over it lol. Miller and Petey's issue was between them only, the team had no bad blood and J.T is welcome in Rogers Arena with open arms no matter who he plays with basically. It's unfortunate he was the choice of who had to go, but I think the Canucks still are a team, and that isn't destroyed by the absence of one player.
The team is way past its expiration date. Even at their best they didn’t have the horses to go the distance. Now they’re older and lack scoring depth. Unimpressive on defense, aside from the goaltender. This team is going nowhere.

They made JT captain to bully Mika into either scoring 40+ again, or accepting a trade to Anaheim
As a Ranger fan, the No BS thing is the stupidest thing especially after last year where most of the guys who are still here were BullShitting around and quitting
I was hoping for the shield as main logo similar to their winter classic jersey from 2012. This design does remind me of the winter classic jersey from 2018 but lighter color. JT is a guy that will definitely bring some emotion and fire under the butts of the rest of the Rangers team. I had thought Trocheck should have been the captain but now that i think about it, maybe he is content to be just the alternate as he has now been pass up for captain twice since signed with the Rangers.

To me, it looks like if someone vaguely described a Rangers jersey to one of those Chinese sweatshop factories and this was the result.
I think we can make the playoffs , we're no contenders but I think we'll improve on last season at least. If Sully can get carreer years out of some guys mabey we can choke in the ecf again.

All this means is JT is gonna get traded to Tampa or Anaheim in due time.

Leaders come in many forms but not every leadership style suits every group. For JT to be successful he has to lead by example and back up his words in order to inspire buy in from the group. And if he needs to call guys out he needs to do it in a way where they get the wake-up call without feeling attacked and insulted. You don’t want to have a captain that might as well be tortarella and with millers low tolerance it’s important that the rangers have a good start to the season

Do you guys watch the games out west? JT Miller was benched multiple times last season in a Canucks uniform for playing bad defence and low effort.
He wasn’t traded and made to be the bad guy afterwards, the management raved about him even after the trade.
He quit on the team for a month, then came back and didn’t play any defence. Plain and simple.
Completely took the quote out of context. Mollie asked him if thought he would ever be captain 10 years ago And that’s where his surprise came from. It wasn’t like “yeah they just didn’t consult me and I’m just here” it was “I know why I’m here and they need a new identity, I’ve come a long where from where I was and I’m here to do it now”

the boys clearly didn't watch him get benched multiple times throughout the season for how garbage his defensive plays were. he CHOOSES when he wants to play good defence, that's not captain material

Miller is insufferable and the team was happy to see him go over Pettersson. I get wanting your team to be insufferable like him, but this can either go well or terribly. It was an odd choice. The no bs stuff screams cringe. My condolences to those who have to take orders from Miller.
When the Rangers are winning, they'll see JT as an awesome captain. But when the team is on some kind of losing streak, JT will probably pull a Torts and get in everyone's face…

there's a reason he's bounced around the league. normally, someone with his skill set would be locked up long term. Canucks did and he didn't get half way through the deal.
The jerseys we had in the 90s are identical to what we have now with some small stripe differences 😭 And the blocky numbers are the same nowadays 💀 This Centennial jersey is an identical copy of our first jersey.
