It all depends of the assets it would cost. If it’s only cash then yeah, why not. But if it’s for a Hage, Engstrom, Flo Xhak.. etc (for example). Then I don’t think it’s worth it at this time in Malkin’s career. Great player though. Just too old imo. Crosby would be more suited for the Habs if we talk Pens star players.
yeah we'll be more then happy to get a deal with Malkin and Pittsburgh but it's the same situation with Crosby and he'll have to take a lesser offer because of his age too !
If Montreal trades for Malkin and then trade for Cosby Montreal, would become penguins and Habs would becomes penguins! and a new rebuild next year for Montreal 😂😂
Crosby will be in Montréal by early December. And habs play against pens 3 times in early- mid December. Would be perfect send off/ new beginning
Has the Habs proved cup contender yet. No. But I feel that this team will take a step again this season. Having said that, where would the habs have to be in November and december to change that perception ? We finished with 91 pts last year. With summer additions, is possible to look at 5 more wins for 10 points ? That is the real question.

This is a trade that I don't want to see. He's too old for this team. The Habs aren't ready to win the cup yet. Getting 6 months of rental is not worth the cost.

if the cost is minimal (Roy plus a 2nd ?), why not ? it would allow Dach time to come back on a 3rd line, without the huge pressure, Demidov a chance to play with his idol, and Malkin a chance to win.
This said, I'd prefer a longer term solution (MacTavish, or even Crosby, who probably has three, four good seasons left ; my guess is HuGo don't do it)

I think malkin would love playing with demidov. You can potentially rotate Laine,Bolduc and slaf on those two lines. It depends on the price I guess.
Not true. We are under estimated Demidov, the kids elite. We have probably one of the best defensive teams in the league. Not that it’s not true, but we got so much better this year. Goalie depth looks great! What’s not to like, I think a few teams got worse, Toronto did minimal losing Marner. We are second or 3rd in the east in by trade deadline. I’m more optimistic than Marco but boy do I respect the man. As a Habs fan, being 5 when Montreal won in 93, I think this is the most complete team I have seen, Demidov looks like kovy on steroids. Let’s not kid our selves. Hughes and Gordon have this under control. 2/3 years away from a dynasty. Mcdavid deserves a big pitch. Optimistic
