Hockey players don't get brutally harrassed on the west coast of the US. Hockey is not in the culture so I know he is going to enjoy his freedom of just being a person in Vegas.
leafs fan here, loved him and hes gonna be missed next season for regular season scoring. but at the same time this was the right move. he clearly didnt want to be here and something major had to be done to change things? but both things can be true that this was the right move but also unfortunate to lose a talented player
Putting hockey to side, Toronto is a miserable place in general. Im sure his mental wellbeing will be far better in Vegas. Not too mention the fanbase is completely different and they have actually won a cup recently
