Stuart Skinner needs a new contract, and by the sounds of it, he will get anywhere in the $4 Million to $5 Million+ range/AAV. Do the Oilers give him that money, or find someone to split the starts and keep the dollar figure down? Better yet, do they just trade him anyways? Let me know your thoughts.

So other than Bob, how many goalies got to the Stanley Cup Finals the past 2 years. Wasn't Oettinger. Wasn't Hellebuyck. Wasn't anyone but Stu and Bob. Bob makes 10 Mil a year. Yes, he's Bob. He's also 36 and not getting younger and is in the last year of his 10 mil a year contract and I can't see him getting 7 more years (or even 6) at big money. With the expanding Cap most goalies are looking at 8+ and you think the guy who got you to the finals TWICE IN A ROW isn't even worth 5? Okay, lets see how he does early on with the weight loss, buffing up, and the new coach but 5 will be a pittance if he gets us the cup and you all should know that.
I have confidence in Skinner but 5 million is too much. He's a good goalie but we really have to stop overpaying for guys. A couple million here, a couple million there it all adds up when you overpay for multiple players.
Spencer Knights extension is 5.8 mil a year. There is no scenario where Stu should earn less, based on numbers and success. Stu will get a minimum of 6 unless he begs the oilers to sign him for less
