Maybe he couldn't be there because hes still trying to get settled moving his family or his pregnant wife who is due to have a baby very soon needs him. Simmonds does a lot for the community, his list is much longer than what was said on the video. He doesn't need an award to show he cares about community and how much he does for it but he definitely deserves it.
