I think kaprizov wants to stay just in a shorter term contract. Which is smart on his part. Cap is only going up
Well if 16 mill didnt work maybe they should see if he takes a 2 year deal instead because a 8yr deal sounds too long if not they should trade him.

May as well trade him imo. Yes fantastic player and will be a terrible loss. He doesn't want to be there OR just cares about the money. Either way it's not good for the team as a whole. Trade him for a massive package and build a complete team.
And if they give him 20 millions , they make sure they can't build a good roster around him and end up in the same situation as Toronto , Edmonton and so on 🙂 Why is it so hard to understand for those stupid players ? Look at Florida , nobody making more than 10 millions , have the best roster , and will more than likely pile up cups in the next years . Yeah it s a non taxes state and bla bla , who allowed them to make a team there ? And that s not the point . Every team with greedy players end up failing , teams with players who takes discount for the team , well , look at the results in Tampa , Vegas , Florida 🙂 And just for that i hope Edmonton never gets one with Draisaitl and McDavid.

In the salary cap era the highest paid player in the NHL has never won the Stanley cup. GMs need to let players walk if they want giant chunks of the cap. Depth wins cups and you can't get depth if one player accounts for 1/5th of your cap.

getting so tired of these guys honestly. holding out on making 16 mil a year. and more and more players are doing this and management bows down to their requests. its time for them to say fuck off and get out of our organization, you have fun for a living and make more than the salary of the hardest working people in the world doing actual jobs to keep the world afloat. these guys really dont understand that they are BLESSED and LUCKY to be earning more than a plumber.
It seems obvious that he doesn't want to be in Minnesota. That's not necessarily bad,, they should get a nice haul in a trade, and be able to afford two very good players at that cap hit. Superstars are nice, but depth wins cups.
