Look — neither David Pastrnak nor Charlie McAvoy has been promoted, even though both wear the ‘A.’ They’re core stars, molded by Zdeno Chara, Patrice Bergeron, and Brad Marchand… but they haven’t fully grabbed the mantle.
Nikita Zadorov is vocal, physical, and embodies toughness and accountability — the kind of culture reset Marco Sturm and Don Sweeney might want. Naming Zadorov captain would take pressure off Pasta and McAvoy… and bring back that Big Z mentality.
