  1. As a fan who has supported the Oilers for 25 years, I can’t help but be worried. Edmonton is known for slow starts, and if that happens again this season, the pressure will only grow heavier. With McDavid’s contract still undecided, every loss could start to feel like more than just two points—it could feel like the future of the franchise slipping away. In that kind of atmosphere, the team might even struggle to stay focused and risk missing the playoffs, leading to a trade-deadline sell-off. From that perspective, it would feel much safer if the team already knew where things stand.
On the other hand, I understand Connor’s point of view. He wants to win, and after years of disappointment, he has every right to take his time and see how things develop before making such a massive decision. By not rushing into a contract, he keeps the pressure on the organization to prove that they can truly contend. It’s a delicate balance—what gives him leverage and protects his career also creates uncertainty for the team and its fans.

  2. What a beauty. Gold metal and stanley cup, 100 pts, home ice advantage. expectations. No Pressure No Big Deal!

  3. Curious the response to the question about what needs to happen to sign – ā€˜nothing… …it will just be a feeling…?’

That doesn’t seem to be the response to expect – if this decision is all about winning, having a complete team that is a Championship team would have been a more likely response…

  4. There is more drama being created out of this than there needs to be . maybe he stays , maybe he goes , who really cares ? I 've followed the Oil from their inception into the league . There have been alot of highs and alot of lows . Here's a thought : Maybe they can actually win without the guy …

  5. This is… so wild. Theres so much to unpack here with no clear answers. Can't wait for the media to talk about this all season and ignore everything elsešŸ˜…

  6. He says ā€œfully prepared to win in Edmontonā€ not ā€œstayā€ in edm it’s pretty easy to read between the lines if bowman doesn’t put a team around him that can win very soon he’s bouncing

  7. I cant even sit through long enough to get to the relevant parts. These guys spending hours talking about Morgan Wallen. Go to a concert if you want to understand more about that guy. Lets talk hockey.

  8. you should ask him what he thinks of the Oilers signing Arvidsson and Skinner on July first 2024, and then cornered, and losing Broberg and Holloway to the Blues. That's bad management to me, no wonder he wants to leave.
