  1. Completely one sided showing You Tube!! Charlie Nicholas was a great player, and it is obvious that he only left Celtic first time around because the owners took the money?? All the crap about champagne Charlie and George Graham not having mavericks….I could name a few in his team who he accepted over the years for wrong reasons, and before the haters hate…..why did he resign from Arsenal after the most successful period at the time??? Don’t be to hard on Charlie Nicholas 👍

  2. Seen him and a few other Celtic fringe players heading into Tiffanys Ballroom March 83 to see U2 . I Never had a ticket , but managed to skip in for free .😁

  3. The original Skytv soup drinker by ladle.
My memories were the barren years particularly 92-94 so I've only ever known him as arsehole on the telly 😉

  4. Charlie got off to a slow start at Arsenal in part due to his mates coming down to London to live with him and getting him out on the town at night, Arsenal slung them out and got his sister to live with him and get him to training on time. He was a great player. I know cos I saw most games and lived opposite him in Oakwood. George Graham could have got more from him in a mid Field role but didn't bother……

  5. Apparently so the story goes, Nicholas trained harder to look good on the telly as a pundit than he ever did as a player

  6. Charlie Nicholas was a superb player ( and I say that as a Rangers fan). So what if he didn’t live up to be a great in terms of longevity – he burned very brightly for the time that he had at the top. He managed to extend that period in football into commentary- partly because of his personality and his joie d’ vivre.

  7. Charlie moved in to his new home in Aberdeen just a few doors along from me and I used to see him more or less every day walking our dogs. He was a really nice guy, always polite and happy to have a chat. Id have been more than happy if he stayed longer at Aberdeen but he was always a celtic fan so it wasn't any surprise he returned to celtic. He always had a great eye for goal as well as the ladies! Champagne Charlie should be remembered for goals, some of which were absolute greats, and not for not fulfilling the potential he had. His move to Arsenal was probably the wrong move, maybe a different club or if he stayed one more year at celtic first time round. Whatever, I wish him, the gentleman Charlie all the best for the future.

  8. Never heard such rubbish from a narrator, he didn’t act like a buffoon on sky sports he was just calling the game🤷‍♂️

  9. He should have gone to Liverpool, not Arsenal in 1983 who wanted him then. Could have become an Anfield legend who knows.
