They have done a solid job roster wise, but forcing players prematurely back from injury and creating an environment where players dont want to play has created a sour taste in my mouth.
Here's the thing – as someone who vividly remembers the cup loss in 2011 I LOVE watching a team were guys have break out performances and grow. Watching dudes level up their game over a season and give it all in an even mediocre playoff push season after season is way better than praying for some "star" to put the team on their back
The next guy to break out isnāt here yet. DeBrusk might have a slightly better year but I donāt think itāll be considered a ābreakoutā season. Chytil is someone I expect to have a better year than normal but again not a ābreakoutā season, heāll likely deal with injury issues, costing him games. I donāt believe heās developed enough callus to endure a full 82 game season. Hopefully in 2 years heāll have a FULL season. Aside from themā¦ maybe Kane? I would chalk that up to being a contract year and playing at home.
