Kevyn Adams and Lindy Ruff not worried about the Buffalo Sabres ability to score goals in 2025-26
The Buffalo Sabres are reporting to training camp and will be on the ice this week! Ahead of practice, Sabres GM Kevyn Adams and head coach Lindy Ruff met with the media to discuss the upcoming 2025-26 season. Adams explains why he believes the team accomplished it’s offseason goal of building up the defensive part of their roster. Is Adams’ non-concern about the team’s ability to score goals concerning? Sneaky Joe is worried the team isn’t giving enough credibility to the possibility they won’t be able to score.

McDavid can come to the BUF ghetto, join the 'Fellowship of the Kesselring' and play alongside The Emperor, his His Majesty McLeod and Lord Kesselring under the conditions that he: 1) take a 'team friendly' contract of less than 6mil per year 2) wash the Emperors car once a month and 3) bake his Majesty McLeod cookies at least 3xs a year and 4) accept a royalty title of Lord Kesselring and the Emperors choosing 👍 🏒 because remember, Stanley Cup royalties and bragging rights are 4 life and far more valuable than any yearly salary.
Sabres have tried to go the goal scoring route for the past 10 years by just drafting skill players and it clearly hasnt worked. Why not try the other way and play super defensive. Who cares if you score 3-4 goals a game if you allow 5-6. Just look at a ton of games this year. How many games did they lose when they scored 3-4 goals. Normally scoring 3-4 goals a game should get you a win 80% of time. That isnt the case with the sabres, they would blow those leads and even if they did win them, it took them OT to finally win which is unacceptable.
Not everything in every sport is about scoring goals, or TD. Football is the same way, Josh can be superman and put up 35+ points a game but it doesnt do very good when you allow 40+. Its crazy that the bills had to score 40+ points vs the ravens and lions in order to win. Normally scoring 40+ points in the NFL is a win.
The prospects squad was inspired by this new defensive mindset and gave up a mere 17 goals in going 0-3. As others have said, Brett Murray is in Penguins camp.
