I’ve liked what he’s doing. I think it’s taking a bit longer than fans like. He had nothing to really work with. We will compete for a playoff spot. And continue to get stronger.
It's not about right now. Worst thing we can do right now is overpay or make a stupid trade in a panic for short term gain. He will eventually make a trade because we will have too many prospects and not enough spots. We are not there yet but based on the prospects games in Dallas we are also not far off. We've waited this long, don't panic now.
I think the owner doesn’t want to spend the money!! People say players don’t want to sign with Detroit because yzerman is hard to deal with agents!! Really gee how many players have we signed since he’s been here. At least 3 or more. So what else do you want?????

Not to mention most of our 1st rounders before Yzerman have busted. Zedina, veleno, Mantha, Schvenkov, even Rass.

"You gotta come up with wins and I think especially March it was hard, you know, that we didn't do anything and then I felt the group kinda um, we didn't gain any momentum from the trade deadline and um, you know guys were kinda down about it…". not lashing out at all. So overblown outside of Detroit
One guy ruined the Detroit Red Wings: Mike Ilitch. It was obvious to everyone and their brother that the Red Wings were due for a rebuild by the mid 2010s. Ilitch didn't want it to happen so the team didn't enter a proper rebuild. Could you imagine the draft capital the Wings would have gotten moving Zetterberg, Datstyuk, Kronwall while he still had gas in the tank, Nyquist and Tatar while both were still 40 point players? Imagine having converted Datsyuk for picks and prospects they don't trade away his contract to Arizona and take Dennis Cholowski in the draft, instead they take Chychrun like they should have in the first place. Maybe Datsyuk gets sent to the Capitals, and instead of St. Louis getting that pick the Red Wings take Tage Thompson. Maybe a 2017 Red Wings squad is bad enough that they can take Elias Petterson in 2017 instead of Michael Rasmussen. Who can say? But you have to imagine committing to a rebuild then instead of pushing out that one last playoff birth would have seen the Wings in way better shape today.
