  1. 3rd in the pacific healthy squad should make them a better roster when healthy they have Pettersson who can be a top 10 C Hughes who is a top 1/2 D and then Demko who can be like a top 5-6 goalie don’t really see that many other teams with this much talent when healthy

  2. I look at win-loss record differently. OT wins are added to the win column but OT losses are not. So, to me, a team with a record of 38-30-14 has a losing record (ie 38-44).

  3. The Vancouver Canucks missed the playoffs by 6 points three games that is pretty good considering all the distractions and without Demko

  4. I've been a lifelong Vancouver Canucks fan and have seen the team go through peaks and valleys from the 90s to the current squad. This current team has some of the top Canucks talents all time on it (Hughes, *Pettersson, *Demko *potential/ceiling) however they lack the true depth that you get from rebuilding. I'm super disappointed to see that this team has decided not to tear down and build through the draft. Such a mid roster, and while the talent coming up has promise (Lekkerimaki and Willander specifically) there is more of a likelihood that they rush the trajectory of this team by trading these assets in the next couple of seasons. Let's remember that this is Rutherford's last kick at the can and ownership is getting twitchy about winning.

  5. Canucks should have traded Pettersen, not Miller. Now they're stuck with him. I see Canucks dropping in the standings, even the Ducks may pass them. No playoffs likely, owner might totally lose it yet again, and Rutherford and Alveen wind up car pooling it to Service Canada to apply for EI benefits. Canucks are masters at shooting themselves in the foot.
