Wow I guess my fellow fans may be delusional. Did you not hear what he said? Can't you read between the lines? The Hughes brothers don't care about the logo on the front of the jersey, they care about the name on the back. They don't care about the NJ Devils. They care about playing together like a bunch of elementary school kids. Even though their value has been diminished trade Jack and Luke for what you can get in return. I feel like that is a major spark in what's to come in 2 years, when Quinn's contract is up but now it coms down to. does he sign an extension with Vancouver or does he leave and join a new team and or come to the Devils, that's what we don't know yet.
LGD! So ready for the season to start. Is there too much focus on the Hughes bros? When Jack was injured we were saying this is the NJ Devils, not the NJ Hughes. But historically, Niedermayer was an essential player, and he valued playing with his brother.
Iām a big fan of waiting until free agency to sign him unless itās a no brainer trade but like you said, other teams are going to be willing to pay a premium for him and Fitzy has all the leverage and is going to want to pay the least for him knowing that Quinn will be coming to NJ anyway. We also donāt have much to trade at the moment so keeping all assets is especially important at this moment. I also hope that if it is a trade, that Silayev is untouchable!!! But I agree again, whatever assets we do have to trade, need to be geared towards a top 6 power fwd.
