Brian Burke makes the Toronto Maple Leafs’ first selection 7th overall in the 2009 NHL Draft in Montreal, picking Nazem Kadri of the London Knights in the Ontario Hockey League, amid boos from the Habs faithful at Bell Centre.

@micfiends Wow you are a joke. Um Burke promised leaf land to move up in the draft to get TAVARES. Then he back pedaled and said oh i'll go get Brayden Schenn. At the draft the islanders and kings laughed Burkes ass out of the building when he tried to con them with crap offers. So he did that little stunt on camera to feel good about himself, then he had to settle for Kadri. Nowhere near as good as Tavares or Schenn. Ottawa drafted Cowen. Cowen hoisted the memorial cup vs kadris knights. fool.
@micfiends Also in the prior draft when Bryan Burke was a duck gm, he wanted to trade up and swap picks with murray to draft Erik Karlsson as a future replacement for S.Neidermyer, Murray told Burke that with the losses or Redden Corvo and Mezaros he COULDNT pass up on Erik Karlsson. Burke was all pissed off. But Murray has class and doesnt bring the cameras over for that crap. watch the footage of Burke stamping around the draft floor like a fat elephant and everyone shutting him down. Wake up.
What's wrong with all the haters? the leafs are actually looking pretty good now, aslong as reimer plays like he did last year, the leafs will actually have a chance at making the playoffs. yes we need a top centre, i'm sure we'll get one july 1st, brad richards really wants to come to toronto, if burke doesn't get him he will go to the rangers (if they have the money)

I go to the same high school as Kadri's 2 cousins. I can say they're great people, but be careful on first impressions. If you act mean or stupid they'll think of you like that for eternity.
