  1. Sammy Blais is the definition of what the Rangers need, and with a glut of top 6 wingers, the writing was on the wall for Buch.. but damn at least a prospect or another pick would have helped

  2. Love it ! Rangers are getting a great role player with a lot of grit and grind on the boards , heavy hitter !

  3. Rangers no longer needed Buch and he was in line for a $2+ mil raise. He was blocking Kakko & Krav. Rangers need to get bigger & grittier, they’ve got to reshape the bottom 6 to be able to compete in the playoffs. This trade is not compared by scoring stats! The only stat Rangers we’re interested in were HITS. Goodrow takes Buch’s PK spot and Blais can PK, too. This trade was addition by subtraction(salary & RW spot) and addition of HITS. This kid Blais is miserable to play against and that’s what Gallant wants

  4. This is a good trade for the Blues but it’s also good for the Rangers. This trade is not judged by scoring stats, it should be judged by NEED. Rangers git what they need…. Opens spot for Kakko/Kravstov, saves $$ and makes Rangers harder to play against by further improving bottom 6. Blues get a terrific player who also PKs

  5. Tbh, we just got Goodrow and not only do we have pick but we have a bit more of a tough player compared to a weak forward. Although as a rangers fan, sucks to see him go

  6. The blues won another trade the O’Reilly trade with Buffalo now this trade don’t know how St. Louis knows how to fleece teams but they do

  7. Buch has become a solid two-way player, but the NYR have a logjam of offensively talented wingers; both younger and cheaper. Plus, there will be a trio of contracts that will have to be dealt with in the near-to-immediate future, and which will cost a fortune. Buch deserves a raise, but he’s not worth 5-to-6 million a year. He’ll be missed and hope he thrives in St. L. Drury is forming his own equivalent of a so-called Identity Line, what with Goodrow and now Blais in the fold, he’s two thirds of the way there.

  8. People need to look deeper o to things. I’m a big time Rangers fan and I know this is all about the $. He’s gonna want 7 million a year for like 6 years. We have so many younger guys who are the future. We have so many other guys that we need to sign in the next year or two. Look at the rest of our RFAs. I’d rather sign them for long term deals and no we have the financial room that we need to sign them and look at getting a big time center.

  9. As a Rangers fan..I understand this trade..this is about money..they couldn’t take his contract and then shell out dollars for Fox, Shersterkin, and Zbad..the other flip to this is that he wasn’t one with a spine as noted on the Wilson incident. The team has balanced scoring but need a few bangers.

  10. The problem is not that he's an RFA, the problem is that they have some MASSIVE contracts coming down the pipe including a Norris winner needing his RFA deal next summer. There was no Buchnevich deal that wouldn't hamper their Cap when the kid crop needed cash.

  11. CHRIS DRURY got hosed, hes in over his head, gorton was calculated and patient, squeezing every inch out of every trade, armstrong makes this deal at anytime, What was the rush, i cant believe what happened.

  12. The Rangers will regret the firing of Davidson and Gorton. Drury has no idea what the hell he is doing. Thanks a lot Dolan.

  13. Blues fan here. …. Christopher Reeves woulda been a step up from Sammy Blais. But we also got someone in return.!?!?!?!?! 🤣GTFOH🤣 …. And that player is Buchnevich?!?!?! 🤣🤯🤣 the Rangers will never trade w STL again!!

  14. Clearly you don't understand that Buchnevich is soft and is not a top 2 line forward. Talk to me after 30 games when you realize he has no clue how play hockey vs. physical, good defensive teams. The concept of scoring dirty goals is lost on him. You'll soon see him sulking on the bench like a little baby when he can't do anything. Thrilled he's off the Rangers. He's a non winning player.

  15. Blais plays a heavy game. I think he has upside. Not as bad of a move as some think when cost is considered.

  16. Honestly i think its a good trade for both sides (Blues Fan) !! We do love Sammy, hes always been one of my favs.. finishes his checks, plays infront of the net, not scared to get his hands dirty, and occaisonally shocks ya with a really beautiful goal or play!! And guys in the locker room like him too! Hes an awesome guy, i think NY will love him, hes what they need!

  17. Huh 196 points in 301 game’s is a point per game player? That’s some fancy math there. There are more roles in hockey than just scoring.

  18. The best part about Buchnevich is how the announcer for Rangers always sounds drunk when he says his name. lol One of my fav players

  19. No steal there buddy.. Blais is an excellent player with a hell of alot more grit than Buch… and hes got some hands too.

  20. Hes not worth the money you will have to pay him.. I'm a rangers fan sad to see him go but not worth 6+mil a year. Cap dump.

  21. NY will love Sammy Blais. This may not be as bad of a trade for NY as everyone thinks! Sammy Blais is a player who is as tough as they come, hes a resilient, grinding, hard hitting, heavy on the puck, wearing down opponents, never lets off the gas,… thats exactly the style of play that took STL to a championship.. and hes exactly what NY needs right now. Plus he plays smart, never gives up on a play, he is really good at fore-checking hard and making D-men choke up the puck before they can get a break out pass, hes good at making something out of nothing.. Hes got Cup experience and he has proven himself to be able to play whatever roll he's asked to play and whats needed of him. As a Blues fan who has seen just how dominating can be against top lines, Im gonna miss him.. I promise you, N.Y., you're getting one hell of a player!

  22. Well kakko is taking his spot but, yeah we could’ve gotten something better in return

  23. Stl fan and I like it. Blais is good but we need forwards that are hungry to score and will go to the dirty areas.

  24. NYR are kinda top heavy and need a little more rounding out on their bottoms lines. Trade makes sense too considering they probably couldn’t afford his salary with ziba contract coming up

  25. As a Rangers fan, I have to say the Blues did very well here, Buch is a very solid player and a stand-up guy, and yes he clobbered Marchand for hitting a smaller Ranger… I don't know much about Blais, so we'll see how that works out.

  26. NYR fan and I absolutely freakin hate it. He's been getting better and better and finally found his place. I'm disgusted and disappointed. Smh
