Noah Laba was really good in the rookie series. Best Ranger on the ice. He & Othmann were dynamite together. Othmann has such a quick release when he shoots. He needs a center that can get the puck to him in the slot. Perreault was mostly MIA, except for an empty net goal in Game2. Morrow was dreadful in Game 1, but better in game 2. He holds on to the puck too long & needs to headman the puck faster. He had giveaways from trying to do too much. Couple of guys went around him & he needs to be much better along the boards. Roobroeck, Sykora & Chmelar were adequate. Chmelar is learning to throw thart big body around & even got into a fight. Gonchar was better than I expected & I like that he is composed & doesn't panic with the puck. Made a couple of slick plays. I really liked Callum Tung in goal.
I am so tired of hearing youth versus age. The problem is not youth or age. It’s entitlement. A 33 year aging star feels entitled to and 22 yr old high draft pick feels the same. But a 33 year old journeymen that is still hungry (JohnnyB) could still have 5 years of playing his heart out and a 22 yr old may never figure it out. If everyone has to make the team every year they earn it or pout. Go pout for a different team(Laffy Mika). Last thought, why isn’t lack of effort a legit reason to void a contract?? It sure is in my business.
