This kid looks incredible..

OK Guys, it’s time to take a look at the game last night between the rookie Montreal Canadiens squad and the rookie Winnipeg Jets squad.. Despite playing an incredible game, the Habs were defeated by a score of 4-3. Ivan Demidov and Florian Xhekaj were 2 of the biggest standouts for the Habs, and in today’s video I’m going to do my best to break down the events from last night.

  1. What was Yager doing at 1:30 in the video? Didn't even try on the faceoff. lol. It was a really fun game. everyone was so excited Hockey is back. It was loud and we even started the wave!!! Woooo! Demidov stood above everyone but Florian was very good too. Different skill set of course but he looked solid out there. Engstrom also looked good. He's great at zone entries. Protz had some major hits man. He's really good at it. Beck looked better than Kapanen but he was ok too. Mesar, barely notices him. Reinbacher's skating looked good but he looked bad on some plays. He's got to dust that summer rust off. I've missed hockey..

  2. No commentators, no commercials and crowd appreciation between whistles. A game you can afford to take all the kids to, and solid hockey. What's not to love?

  3. Rhinebacher was soft on 2 goals against. Demidov and Xhekaj looked really good. Kapanen looked and Fowler was solid. Sorry to hear about your nephew bud !

  4. Demidov, Xhekaj and Kapanen showed they were NHL ready or ready for a call up. The rest of the forwards, not so much, but that was the expectations for them anyway.

Prost or whatever his name in defense, great timing for his big hits, if he can show other things as well i can see him climb up the B defensive prospect list.

Fowler was Fowler, not impressed by the 2nd one, but who knows a bad game can happen.

    Finally some HOCKEY !!!!!!

  5. 1Hey J, I'm unable to make a donation. You need to login, to rectify so donations can resume. ill try again later today or tomorrow. Great vid, sorry to hear about your cousin's situation.

  6. I'm just getting back on my feet after over a year of unemployment or I would love to help.. I hope your nephew and his family get the help they need to land on their feet.

  7. Seriously, I am leaving Ivan and Florian together the rest of the way in camp. Wouldn’t be an amazing surprised if we could field Ivan, Florian and Zach on a line together? Throw Anderson on the Dach Laine pair and let them figure things out.

  8. I've donated what i could… not very much, considering one of my dog got a big operation two months ago! Such a sad story tough.Hope they can rebuild very quickly!!

  9. I don't know what everyone else thought but I thought reinbacher and engstrom were both underwhelming. Some flashy moments but they didn't control the game like I expected

  11. Thoughts a prayers going to your nephew and his wife from Nova Scotia and we had our fair share of fires this year sad and scary times

  12. Going by your title for this piece, I thought it was about Protz !!…guy is a destroyer

  13. OK, I was wrong, I'll admit it. The Montreal Canadiens would be crazy not to have Florian Xhekaj in their line-up at the start of the season. Xhekaj and Kapanen would make for a fantastic 4th line. I was disappointed with Rikkenbacher's and Thorpe's performance though , I was expecting to see a whole lot more than just some sloppy hockey. Owen was no surprise as I wasn't expecting much and got exactly what I was expecting. And where did this Goriunov guy come from ??? Go HABs.

  14. Just curious why people think Reinbacher had a good game out there. Sure made a couple good passes in the O zone but had way more mistakes on D than I thought he would.

  15. Xhekaj played a good game, i think he tried to fight before the puck dropped in the first period! lol. He did play well tho, so did Demidov, showed some crazy skill, he has fast crazy hands, even Thorpe made a couple nice plays. Protz was laying some HEAVY hits, we need that, someone who strikes fear and makes a player second guess entering the zone, or any play really. If we stayed with the same goalie we started with, like the Jets did, we would have won that game, they just want to use these games to see everyone, i dont think they're too focused on winning. (The players want to win, im sure!), but that's not what management is really looking for.

  16. Pens fan here. I watched some highlights, and remember thinking, 'That 63 kid is huge. Is that a Xhekaj?' Turns out it was.

  17. For the love of all that is holy, we need an option to turn off commentators on tv!!!!!!!!!!! This was the best game ever!

  18. Beck was NOT one of the positives.

Kapanen is miles ahead of him.

Beck will, at BEST, be a very marginal player in the NHL.
