I really REALLY loved the chemistry between Demidov and Xhekaj it felt like Florian was the only able to follow the pace of Demidov. My hot take for the Training Camp is that Florianās gonna join the team! Hell he might be that famous 2nd line center weāve all been waiting for š (Iām kidding btw, unless š)

I knew Demidov would be good, 3 points is great. I thought Montreal carried a lot of the play. Looks like many of the D are in need of experience, go figure. I think FX has a shot of making the team. I hope he becomes a Shayne Corson type player

We all expected Demidov to be good, but boy I was really impressed with Xhekaj. Florian had an edge to him, and he could keep up with Demidov very well. He might be an impactful bottom 9 guy sooner than we thought.
They have good defensemen, but they have to play better defense—that takes time, but they have to do better. Reinbacher was too passive around the net. He has the talent and size to do better.

Reinbacher is never making the nhl, what a bust he's terrible. Some people are saying they liked his game last night, no idea what they were looking at

Been watching Handel with the hometown Mooseheads and can say his defensive game is not his strong suit. We will see if he can have a breakout year in Jr's
For all the hype Rhinebacher was a dissapointment for me. Demidov was as expected. Xhekaj looked like an NHL player. Kapanen looked solid and Fowler while not tested a lot looked very solid.
Demidov was feeding Xhekaj like an Italian gramma last night. Florian is like our own Lucic. He's got more hands than I expected.

If you remove the couple highlight parts of the game he was very ho hum and the first period I thought he was mostly sub par.This is however what I have expected people look at 2 /25 shifts and say OH LOOK AMAZING.
In perspective this is also prospects nowhere near NHL calibre hockey and Demidov mostly struggled which is not a good sign.Luckily this is the entire NHL a lot of weak hockey is played most of the shifts from most players so even if/when he plays poorly he likely won't be scored against most of the time.
I liked the overall play of the MTL prospects a lot of grit some good hockey at times but still a lot of low shooting IQ in the habs system a lot of shots right at the goalies pads.Overall I think there were for sure 5 guys who could fill in if an injury happens but nothing stood out as NHL caliber.
The high stick goal was obviously called off but I still had to think how does that even go in on Fowler he needs to make certain his body position completely shuts down the angle of the shot.I know going back 2 years I have seen a bit of Fowler and he did have a tendency to look sketchy on long shots which sort of reminds me of another highly totred rookie in Carter Hart the Flyers player from a few years past.
Winnipegs goalie was stellar. Not easy to outshine Demidov.
I found watching this alot like watching the habs 2 years ago. Waiting for the top line and the rest of the time the temperature was average at best.
Xhekaj shocked me the most, i wrote him off as a 4th, call up at best, im wrong, really wrong.
That one game justifies him getting a shot the preseason and see if he can keep up with the big boys

It is sad to contemplate but Gallagher and Anderson are holding spots that younger players should be competing for. I love both of them but this has to be their last year.
Not a win loose game. Great to see the young guys skating and maybe the number one line is our new number three or two line!!

Other than Demidov ofc Florian impressed me the most with his timing and play reading capacity to be able to follow a player like Demidov. No wonder he scored so much even on a 4th line.
Bro, thank u so much for being honest about reinbacher, i have watched other channels this morning, who said he played a very solid defensive game! lol, NO HE DIDN'T!!! lol. Just wanted to thank u, i know ur not saying he's a bust, but at least u can be honest when he does have a bad game. Some people just cant admit that he isnt a superstar every time he's on the ice.
