Cody Ceci is one of those players that profit largely from how this “unionized players playing on capped teams with a pretty good minimum salary league” operates.
He aint bad enough to be close to league minimum, he’s experienced enough to be 3 to 4 times that by default and he’s a right shot defenseman, add 1 million, tall and heavy ish that’s easily another 500k … and here you go, Cody Ceci and his contracts explained.
He's always confused me too. He's not a great passer and simply bangs the puck up the boards to try and get it out. Rielly adopted that from him it seems

I think it’s relatively simple: he’s a 6’3 215 pound right shot defensemen who can skate a bit.
For most GM’s and coaches, that’s more than enough to be deployed heavily.
Also was a first round pick with a previous offensive pedigree multiple teams have tried to unlock.
He’s a top four because he’s a right shot. If he was a left shot he’d be a number 6.
Is Cody Cici the most underrated D-man in the league 🤔

Super rough stretch with him on the pens…
He was very steady for Edmonton. Didn’t make a lot of the big mistakes and gave valuable minutes. Good player

The dude looked like dogshit for the Leafs nightly, how he plays on Dallas, in the top 4, boggles my damn mind.
