    Ah I see yeah make sense that Georgiev is back up till lukhonen come back maybe even start considering that yes Levi is younger but he was terrible himself last season too so yeah make sense I mean buffalo should maybe have tried to trade lukhonen or something but well we shall see

    Toews old self was not even a good second line center by old self I mean In his last seasons with the Hawks they were pretty brutal we talking less than 40 points seasons! And he has not played hockey since 3 years and now people talking about Olympics for Toews we need to lower our expectations!

    I liked Georgie when he was a NYr, but not with all his post trauma disorders of screaming MacKinn & Nichushk & firing pucks at his head during game day practices.

    I am so incredibly happy that Fleury is going to retire a Penguin…I was beginning to lose hope that this would happen…I just wish I still lived closer so I could go see him in a Pens jersey one last time 🥺

    Fanduel STL did JK dirty. I mean, the guy was literally a child hanging around the team in the 60s. As much as I like the radio team, 1) simulcasts are lame and make you look like a minor league team and 2) you don’t treat your people that way.

    Definitely took Georgiev a bit to get a contract, his last 2 year had been tough. I do think he was overworked by Avs before his trade to Sharks.

    I enjoyed John Kelly's call of Avalanche games back in the late 90's, early 2000's. I even enjoyed his Blues stint, even though I'm not a Blues fan. He's one of the best.

    Flower is milking it for everything he can… and he deserves every drop. Loved him in MN but he deserves to go out a Penguin.

    I am a Blackhawks fan, and I am more than okay with five young defensemen. They will make mistakes, they will grow, but the time in the NHL is the only one that hasn't played in the AHL, and Rinzel, who looked fantastic in nine games last year, averaged well over 20 minutes per game. He added 15 pounds in the offseason on a strength program and gained agility to go with it. Side note, I think you missed Korchinski, who is also 21.

    Fleury's agent said a while back that multiple teams asked if Fleury was really done because they were interested in him. I love that.

    As a Blackhawks fan, I love the young Blackhawks blue line. Rinzel looks like a homerun of a late first-round pick, Vlasic is already a high-end NHL defenseman, Levshunov and Korchinski both show tons of flashes. Guys like Nolan Allen, Wyatt Kaiser, Ethan Del Mastro, and I'm sure I'm forgetting one or two, can all be NHL level defenders. I'd rather them go all in on the youth as opposed to picking up a vet (potentially a free rider looking to leverage the BHawks for their cap space) and clog up the pipeline. Let the young dudes go out and prove it!

    Retiring a Penguin was the right way to finish it all for Marc-Andre Fleury. To bad tho it did not end with a IIHF World championship gold medal due to that major upset against Denmark…by just 1 goal difference. Would been awesome to have finnished career as a Triple Gold Club member.
    Anyway, now the Penguins must retire #29 as there ATG goaltender in the rafter !!!!

    We are going to miss Sam Rosen so much here in NY. And Joe Micoletti leaving too was a total shock to our broadcast TV life. There are good play by play, but Sam is on another level. The fairness if the other team was beating the NYR was very good listening. No bashing, just hockey.

    Flower is so beloved, I think the whole hockey community is behind him and that's wonderful to see. I wish him the best in everything.

    I expect I'll get cooked for this, but it's important to me: I'm so disappointed and unsurprised that the Hockey Canada Five are eligible. I followed that trial so closely and the outcome was such a letdown. Though acquitted in the eyes of the law, the behavior of all those men was reprehensible, and their testimony in both in depositions and under oath made it clear they all tried to get away with something they knew was very wrong. It's just so disheartening as a female fan of the sport, knowing teams are indifferent to actions like that. This isn't a new problem, but it seems no one cares enough to try to improve it. The NHL doesn't even have a policy regarding domestic violence.

    I love the game of hockey and I just want to root for players that have basic decency and good character. This shouldn't be a hard ask.

    I think if the Hawks do bring in a vet d-man at the last minute, he will only be a depth piece that will only play about 30 games. Not only do they have the guys you mentioned, they also have Kevin Korchinski and Nolan Allan trying to crack the lineup. In a few years, I believe it will be the best defense top to bottom in the NHL. Vlasic is young, but he's a veteran at this point. He has 179 career games already. It will be an exciting team to watch for sure.

    As someone who grew up on the pre-Altitude-broadcast Avs, when they were on Fox Sports Net, John Kelly’s voice will always be an Avalanche voice to me. I’ve never gotten used to him calling for the Blues. Kings will be strange as well. I’ll always fondly remember his time with Colorado.

    A guy who hasn't played for the Pens since riding the bench in 2017 will draw a larger crowd in a preseason game than the Pens will draw in any regular season game.

    Chicago counting on Bedard putting up 3 points/game this season so they're not worried the defence giving one away every now and then.
