Kirill Kaprizov rejected an eight-year, $16-million extension with the Wild, so how crazy could this deal get? In the NBA, lots of stars take “max deals”, while in the NHL it seems the best players always leave money on the table. Will Kaprizov break that trend? TSN Hockey’s Martin Biron joins Domino’s That’s Hockey with his thoughts.

Kind of an inflammatory title
Kaprizov may not be mcdavid or draisaitl, but Minnesota isnt edmonton.
Is he worth it? Probably. Would signing him and then having no money to improve to win a cup be worth it? Nope
Kaprizov almost sounds like a, Russian, OJ product.
In all seriousness though Kaprizov wants to make sure the Wild have a talented and young enough team to win with over the long haul.
It will be the biggest contract of his career too
Habs get kaprizov and leafs get mcdavid
trade him
RIP
Kirk
Greed will get them no cup.
the cap going up. Players asking for more. Wonder how much ticket prices will be?
It's funny, KK doesn't need to think about anything at all – he just looked at the blogs, read the comments, and made a decision. That's sarcasm, by the way. I'm sure the only right way for the Minnesota Wild is to negotiate with Kaprizov's team as a dialogue within the same team, taking into account the interests of all parties. As partners, not as opponents. It's clear that Kaprizov will make the Wild money, but he doesn't want that role! If you want to keep him, offer him a 16×3 contract and assemble a championship team for the next year. Everyone will be happy!

Kaprizov did Minnesota a huge favor. He's not worth that kind of money.
Chicago could get him for Bedard
this is a very clear message to the Wild front office that he has little hope of the Wild ever becoming true contenders
omg… this is not about the money. ppl who are saying he is greedy are just plane and simply stupid. he just wants a shorter deal so that he wont be OWNED by MW for 8 years. how hard is it to understand that? Any1 who thinks he wants more money is simply braindead
