  4. R.I.P. Johnny & Matthew. Blessings to all family members, friends, and colleagues. The arrogant, intoxicated monster that did this should rot in prison!

  5. My thoughts and prayers are with the families, friends, co players etc. A sad and senseless tragedy that had one person just stopped and thought before getting behind the wheel under the influence.

He will have a life sentence living with what he is actions did . As he should.
But the saddest and most painful is the lost the families are going through and will forever go through.

Love to the families and know how much these guys were loved, respected, and are going to be missed.

  6. Absolute Legend. Johnny Hockey was one of the main reasons I started cheering for the flames. He might not have been the best player in history, but he was the best in many of our hearts. Rip Johnny and Matthew

  11. I hope these 2 young men rest in peace. I hope the family finds the love they need as they grieve. I hope his team is able to grieve and mourn the loss of their teammate, theyre friend. I hope their fans can respectfully grieve and let their family mourn their loss as they need to. I hope the man who caused this gets every ounce of hell he deserves from robbing the family, the friends, the fans, and the world of these 2 men. My heart goes out to them and their families. Im just starting to get into hockey, and I live in Ohio so I started to follow the Blue Jackets. Its not a way to start following a sport. There can be no excitement right now for fans. This tragedy goes through the entire league, and is felt by all fans. Please let the justice system prosecute the drunk who caused this tragedy. Give him every ounce of punishment he deserves, but in my opinion, that still wont be enough.

  12. As an Oilers fan and first and foremost a hockey fan, I am devastated and shocked by the loss of Johnny Hockey and his brother Matthew. I am even more saddened for the tragic loss of two special great human beings. RIP Johnny and Matthew!!!
