We need to talk Minnesota Wild Forward Kirill Kaprizov who is rumored to have turned down the biggest deal in NHL history. All that and more for today’s NHL hockey video!
The simple answer is that if you are a superstar, you don't want to be in MN. Taxes suck, education system in decline, little glitz and the fans a fair weather at best. There is more noise at my kids U12 game then the average Wild game.
Talk about some hyperbole. Just another player trying to max his value in a business. No different than the Knights kicking players to the curb. KK not wanting to lock in at todays rate when the cap is supposedly increasingly rapidly is just him doing an Austin Matthews.
Kaprizov is a superstar—something the wild have never had. Good management is something that the wild do not have and have never had. If kaprizov leaves I respect the decision. The lack of winning recently has been frankly disgusting. How fucking long is this damn process Yall are on about? When are y’all gonna get it right? Because I sick of waiting and kaprizov leaving would just be a confirmation that management completely fumbled.
I feel the seravelli report is fear mongering trying to create buzz over a nothing topic for the camps involved.
Bill Guerin was livid over the report and is cited to say that those comments were not from him, kiril or his representation. So what frank got is tainted info.
Hey Eck, i follow your hockey stuff and your Star Wars channels. You've mentioned your views being way down on the Star Wars side of things if you need to compensate elsewhere I'd be interested in a "lore" hockey channel, if it's something you'd be interested in persuing. i know there's a lot of great old time hockey stories, both on the ice and off , and i'd love to hear some of them. just a thought.
The wild just aren’t good enough to win a cup with or without him. I hope he walks, I hope it’s a wake up call to change the culture and structure of the team. Sinking all that money into a single player when the rest of the team needs him just to be competitive. Look at other cup contenders, isn’t the talk always depth? We lose ek or kaprizov and the team disintegrates. That’s not a winning team. That’s a bottom 16 team getting dragged kicking and screaming to the post season by their top end talent/stars. Forever I’ve wanted the wild to build like Florida did, big hitters, hard physical grind the opponent down hockey, get under opponents skin. Have a little nastiness a little moxie and swag. They don’t have an “ it “ factor. Even when they’re doing well, it seems hollow. There’s no identity or character, something is just always off about them. I get a different feeling watching them than I do other teams. Is it because they’re my no 1? I don’t know but something’s gotta change, something’s gotta give. It also feels like there’s no leadership, nobody has the reigns. I feel More of the same is coming this year, fighting for the last playoff spot to get bounced in the first series. It’s going to blend right in with the last 15 years of wild hockey, just as mediocre and forgettable. I guess there’s always next decade right?
I think the bigger issue is that the Wild are not competing and aren't exactly on the upswing. Signing a long term deal doesn't put any pressure on management to turn that team around in the short term. So if he is wanting a shorter deal I think his objective is to put a deadline on management to start improving that team now, not in another 5 years.
Why would someone want to pay him over 20 million long term once he’s over 30? That makes no sense. Makes way more sense that he would just want out of Minnesota
Given the young talent the Wild have idk why he would want to leave. Boldy looks like a star in the making. Faber is probably the best young defender in the game, Erikson Ek keeps getting Selkie snubs (been injured). Buium should be a heck of player. Gustavsson is a borderline elite goaltender. Yurov is supposed to be an all world talent. Brodin is very elite, Middleton is a great.
Forward lines are good depending on injuries. It’s a great situation.

Just because the cap is going up it kinda sucks using it all on one player
the wild are my second team so i want them to succeed
It’s great being a Cats fan lol. I was made fun of only 5 years ago but I’m feeling fine.
A team full of players that just want to win, instead of getting their bag.

I am sensing a trade before the season even begins. Maybe to the habs with there new found cap space.

The Wild being unable to sign Kaprizov is the most Minnesota thing ever!

NYR fans are already fitting him into their top line. Most predictable entitled fanbase in existance.
hes overrated as all hell massive overpayment
Kaprisov for Hughes 1-1 confirmed. My source I don’t have one

Who would want to play in Minnesota? I think its the location.

Shesterkin ahh
With how much he's been hurt, he should be willing to give a bit
