I know this episode is on defense, but i can’t hear “the 5 on 5 is horrible” without thinking about how Stamkos is horrible on 5 on 5 and should only be on the power play. We should be sheltering him as 3rd line LW not 1st line C.
As a lifelong Preds fan, I miss the days that our team’s identity was being known as a “lockdown defensive team”. I am excited for our future defense, but it might be a while. It’s definitely time for Stastney (which I like a lot), to “nut up or shut up”. I’m glad he got the help he needed and I’m very proud of him for that, but Trotz needs to figure out if he’s an AHL’er or an NHL’er. As far as Wilsby goes, the skill he showed has me really excited. Lol then there’s Justin Barron…. 🤣
Skjei had a rough year, and is signed to an anchor of a contract. Josi has had concussion issues and may be nearing the end of his career. Hague was a 3rd pairing defenceman in Vegas, and Perbix might be counted on to do too much. Youngsters like Molendyk don't have NHL experience. I'm worried the defence might actually be worse than last year, but I'm hoping to be wrong.

@Ann & Emma, thank You so much for the 'shoutout' – not too many Norwegian Preds fans that I know of that also nag and oppose you guys with some comments in here so I guess that I was the target 🙂
One of the biggest concerns for me and Josi is not the heart issue that he's been diagnosed with. It yet another concussion for Roman. He's had at the very least 8 concussions. CTE has got to be a huge concern. We've had 2 former Preds Wade Belak and former captain Greg Johnson both committed suicide and were diagnosed with CTE posthumously(only way to diagnose at this time). While not all concussions lead to CTE, the more you have, the more concern that CTE can develop. I hope that Josi takes this as a serious concern especially since this isn't a team that will be contending for a cup. This team has a better chance at competing for the McKenna sweepstakes. This is the direction that they should be headed. Grier is doing a fantastic job in San Jose. We need a GM willing to do this type of rebuild. Trotz isn't the GM for that. Time for real change for the Preds.
