McDavid can get whatever contract terms he wants. If he was going to sign with Edmonton, it would have happened by now. The only question is where is he going.
They should've been worried after he made the comments in regards to winning over and over again.
Going all the way to free agency is the best possible move he can make for his career and legacy.
The team is still not good enough to win the cup, unless someone gets lucky and takes out Florida.. but I doubt they could defeat any team that can do so. If Edmonton still does nothing by the end of the year, maybe even by the trade deadline, McDavid should look to move on if he ever wants to win. And i am or should I say was an Oilers fan the past 40 years or so. Already got tired of them blowing it while they have McDavid and Draisaitl. Now I want to see how many Florida can win and how many more goals Ovechkin scores, stuff like that.. love hockey.

that's 11 top-10 picks, 5 top-5 picks including the mcjesus. that's an entire top 6 + top 4 + goalie worth of top 10 picks. the level of mismanagement to have that amount of draft capital and still not have won at least 1 stanley cup is unreal. let alone to still not have a solid goalie solution in net. also, all of ken holland's 1st rd picks (2019-2023) have left the organization.
