    It may not happen this year but I can see Florian being Demidov's Semenko as Semanko was to Gretzky, a nuclear deterrent to taking liberties with our franchise player. As for Crosby, they need to start getting Pittsburg fans used to the idea and not rip that band aid off too fast. By trade deadline Pittsburg fans will be ready to accept a bunch of future players and picks to let him go for another cup. Keep the faith and Go Habs Go!

    I think the Xhekaj brothers are going to have a strong camp.
    Florian will weigh around 210-215 and be a total menace in rookie trainning camp.

    I watched a lot of Laval games last season. Florian Xhekaj has some surprising offensive skill and skates really well. Add that to his toughness and decent defensive game, and I can see him as a bottom six staple in Montreal for a decade. But I think he'll play one more season in Laval; there's not much room on the Habs' forward lines for prospects this season.

    Keep Arber, trade Struble at the deadline in a package for Crosby, bring up Florian to play with Demidov and either Dach, or Bolduc as 2C to fill spot until Sid joins

    If Sid decides that he wants to leave, it would bring his value down a little bit I think. We need to clear 4 131 667$ of the cap to make room for his 8.7M/year to fit him under the cap. Maybe something like Newhook, Struble, Kapanen and a 1st and a 2nd would work. It would kickstart Pittsburgh's rebuild, it would be good for them. Also it's not like they would have any leverage cause he will only want to get traded to Montreal, so not much room for them to shop him somewhere else.

    I would like to see Florian on the fourth line center this year. I think he deserves it just like Evans deserves to be the 3rd line center with Bolduc and a good 3rd line winger.

    I couldn't agree more with Jesse about the shooting/net front thing. How many 1st overall picks are just big bodies in front of the net? He needs to carry the puck a bit more and shoot more.

    For twenty years, I've dreamt the Habs would somehow acquire Crosby. The day when it becomes possible is perhaps slowly approaching. However, as brilliant as he is, I truly believe that the cost will be too high. I don't want to trade away our top six forwards or top four defencemen for a player who is 38 years old. Pittsburgh will expect an absolute windfall so that they can rebuild. I very much doubt that they will do a cheap deal so that he can chase another cup.

    Florian is a big body with an attitude and skill. Other teams are a bit worried. That's a playoff recipe of real depth.

    Boy am I going to be mad if the only time anyone is ever correct about an NHL trade rumor, and it turns out being Crosby to MTL.

    Big hopes for Florian. Already 1 good thing to note going into camp: He was listed at 195 last season, but looking at the rookie tournament roster this weekend, hes listed at 207.

    Easy Habs fans. Lets remember Sid & Mackinnion are best buddies. They train together and are from the same town. Avs have a good team as well, maybe better than Montreal at this stage too. Plus the Avs dont have to get out of the Atlantic division at playoff time. No division is stronger than the Atlantic. If Crosby leaves Pitt, the Avs & Canadiens maybe a hard choice for Sidney & the Dubas

    Crosby knows if he came to MTL and we win the Cup he will be the absolute Goat… to come here and deliver (obviously all other pieces in place and right timing but this is the MTL) plus golden goal and the other cups… I think it passes

    Seeing Florian in Laval on several occasions last year, I definitely could see him sticking around long term over Beck and Kapanen. He's got size that he uses, loves to go to the dirty areas, and a very decent shot. Power forwards are needed more than a Beck or Kapanen style player.

    If they get Crosby without touching too much to the core of the team I will constantly soil my pants each time I think of Demidov having Crosby as a center to start his career

    Not only would Sid instantly make the Habs a cup threat, Geoff Molson has gotta be licking his chops just from the amount of jerseys he would sell. Its a no brainer for the Habs. They have the assets. Go and cook, Kent

    I will make a prediction we will see 3 games with 8+ goals for scored this season. But I still expect them to miss the playoffs because of injuries.
