Just need to have constant open dialogue with Demmer about how his body is feeling with the idea that every game is not make or break now that he's got competent support in the form of Lankinen. The goal is to maintain his body so that he can perform at an elite level EVERY time he gets the start, knowing he's going to get more starts than Lankinen. Marathon mentality.
Even if hughes goes down for a chunk of the year, i can't see this team being a bottom feeder. Certainly not a playoff team, but not in the basement. I think that alone means trading for a legit difference-making forward (hopefully a center) should be prioritized even if it means you gotta pay big. McKenna isn't happening… unless hughes, petey, hronek, and demmer all miss the whole year. Ship that 26 1st rounder with some other shit and get someone legit.
