  1. As a fan of a division rival (Ottawa), I personally always had a soft spot for the Sabres. Watching your guys continued downfall through the past 1.5 decade is terrible, especially after Melnyk ran our team so far into the ground in his later years

  2. Fun fact, if you go on google maps, someone added a location near the arena called “Key bank center: tropical resort and destination” and it has multiple five star reviews. 😂

  3. There's a plaza near my house with a bar and a seemingly vacant business next door where they hung a sign saying Palm Trees In Buf.

Would make for a great tropical sports bar lmao

  4. This is easily one of the best videos I've seen in a long while. Pens fan here who's always had a soft spot for Buffalo in general, and, although it's a different sport, I know your pain as a miserable Pirates fan.

  5. Not all Heroes wear capes.

My plan is to hope the Sabres pull a Bills of 2017 and make it a year I don't expect them to like this one 😂

  6. Hey I actually worked at the arena during the 50th season and remembered that 90s night I actually met Peca, some of the greats my dad loved during that time. I even got those pennants besides the 2010s one.

I worked in the suites as a liquor runner and tell you this. Those jerseys they wore for the the alumni were made by athletic knit. I specifically remembered because Peca wore another jersey under his and walking through the suites handshaking and taking pictures. You can probably find one of those photos with me in one of they ever showed pictures of the outer suites. I was even surprised by that because you’d think they’d have the effort to go through the season and the bottom where the CCM and NHL had the kit factory logo.

Besides that the job was okay besides being underpaid but I say it sorta was worth it especially meeting Josh Allen and Dawson Knox

  7. 13 min in and you gained a subscriber. This is the content I both love and hate to see. Thank you, I think..

    (Seriously, good stuff)

  8. I remember the Ryan miller hit so well, I was playing nhl11 with some friends and had a weird feeling to turn the game on, not 30 seconds later I saw miller go flying,

  9. It's actually quite simple, they're in the Atlantic Division. By far the toughest division in hockey. If they were in the Metro, they would've made it in multiple times. 👍👍

  10. Love that the newest owners scrubbed from the internet their plan to have an "all american" hockey franchise. They planned to exclude Canadians and run their whole org with just Americans. Results speak for themselves.

  11. That Hudson Fasching goal was a massive blown call. Just wow. Hasn't the wording of the rule always been that it has to be a distinct motion resulting in a goal? Or was the word "kicking" removed shortly after this specific season? I can only imagine. Not even a Sabres fan (so idk why I'm even watching this) but that's brutal. One can only hope whoever's running this trainwreck gets unceremoniously ousted sooner than later so they don't waste Tage's prime years. I want to see the Sabres in the playoffs!

  12. I want the Sabres to fail! They deserve being the perennial losers of sports and perhaps when they hit rock bottom will bring in a new owner who hires a competent GM and build a team that plays with intensity and doesn't worry about appeasing the LBGTQ lobby with virtue signaling by dressing up for gay day! Kevyn Adams is a joke!

  13. Not sure if it's included, but is "all our old players won the Cup" in that iceberg?

    (not a BUF fan, though)

  14. As a Buffalo fan, I think the truly wild stat is that both of the Buffalo teams haven’t made the playoffs in the same year this century. The last time they both made it, they lost on fluke plays. Sabres lost to a foot in the crease, and the bills lost on a forward lateral

  15. Please please please do the whole iceberg! My friends are such massive Sabres fans and always talk about all the bullshit that’s happened during the drought. I’ve learned so much watching this video and I want to know the full lore of this dumpster fire.

  16. When it turns around, and it will, for Buffalo. It will be glorious for you guys. Just don't know when that will be . Florida fan.

  17. “The solution is in the room!” “Push to the playoffs!”

How could I love and follow a team I hate so much sometimes?

EDIT: Lucic is such a piece of shit. Miller was 100% right

  18. The fact that Eichel thought he had any chance of beating McDavid for first overall is one of the funniest parts of this whole video lol

  19. It’s Pagula’s fault that Buffalo didn’t win the cup in 1999, it was his fault Dallas had 5-6 hall of fame players and a payroll of 65 million and Buffalo only had Hasek and payroll of 25 million. It’s all his fault even though he wasn’t the owner

  20. It’s Pagula’s fault in 2005 Buffalo has 10 million in cap space and a great team, the best chance to ever win a cup and the owner and GM decided to pick up ZERO NHL players for backups during playoffs…It’s Pagula’s fault the owner was so cheap he spent zero money on players when they had the best chance to ever win a cup

  21. Tom would not spend more than 55mil. He said he would not lose money and in 2008 after selling out every game with the winter classic they just broke even. The Sabres are not 5.2 mil away from the playoffs. That is a 2nd line dude if you are lucky. Now you also need to get a person that wants to come. What? Give Marner 13.3 mil this summer? That is how they got into a mess in 2012. Next year the cap goes up and I don't think Pegula is worried about 5.2 mil. He has billions. That is like a $5 bill to a surgeon. They let people go during the Covid year so that they could collect unemployment. It was not like "The poor venders" that people wanted to make it out to be. Nothing in sports is simple. The Sabres in 1999 went to the finals by winning against a Leafs team in a pre cap era. They have still been to the finals more recently than the leagues most expensive team.

  22. At the end of the day, playing terrible hockey for 2-3 years and drafting right at the top WORKED for the Pens and Hawks… who took home SIX Stanley Cups (3 each) as a result. Literally tanked and got dynasties for it. But when Buffalo tries it? Of course, failure and shaming for trying it.

  23. I am once again asking to please stop giving the psychological terrorist known as Terrence Pegula money towards the Sabres franchise.

  24. I cannot even begin to thank you enough for putting this video together. As someone about to turn 20, growing up watching the sabres my whole life, it’s like a reminiscent nightmare. Hilarious, but miserable. I can’t wait for the future videos to come. I still remember being in attendance for the butt goal as a seven year old and thought it was the funniest thing ever back then. I still do 😭
