If it goes south, so be it. At least that will have to destroy Barry’s illusions regarding this team.
Bruno will say goodbye and there will be fire under Barry’s ass too.
I completely disagree with Ann here. Nashville needs no more mediocrity. Not at the Titans and not the Preds either.
If it looks bad this season too, blow it up, clean the lockerroom. Get rid of ALL of them.
Tank.
There were several players that were defense liabilities at the beginning of the season. We then traded away defense | defenders got injured.
I’m going that this season can turn around without a tank season. I’d like to “rebuild on the fly” like the Caps. But I think it’ll take a complete buy in, and total execution, and cohesiveness. I think it can be done, but it’s gotta be outta the gate and consistent. Can’t wait for tomorrow’s “defensive” show! That’s my favorite part of hockey…. I miss Carrier and Fabbro! 😭😭😭
I think the success of the season will be largely influenced by how well Svechkov does. The fact is Marchessault (or Evangelista) and Stamkos need a really strong center. OReilly can only play on one line and even then hes no MacKinnon or Kucherov etc. If Svechkov takes a miraculous huge step up then our 2w's can cook, we might make the playoffs. If he doesnt (more likely imo) then we probably still finish around the 8-12th pick id bet. It seems pretty unlikely we will find some other player to come in and be a 1 or 2c. Not saying we should be pressuring Svech or have any expectations, thats just the reality of our current roster
