The annual Hockey Hall of Fame game will be played in Las Vegas for the first time ever.
I’m Elaina Lanson with your C-U Mortgage Direct Midco Minute.
The match-up on October 27th will feature the North Dakota fighting hawks and the Minnesota Golden Gophers. These two rivals have squared off 284 times dating back to the 1947-48 season. The two were formally longtime conference rivals and Minnesota leads the rivalry 139-130.
Together the two teams own 13 NCAA Division 1 men’s hockey championships. 8 by UND and 5 from the Golden Gophers.
The Hall of Fame game will be held at Orleans Arena and will be live here on Midco Sports Network starting at the 9:00pm central time. Our own Alex Heinert, Jake Brandt, and Katie Hale will be making the trip and be on the call for this game.
North Dakota has one destination game every other year, recently playing at Madison Square Garden and outside at Rosenblatt Stadium. The latest thing big hockey programs have been playing at big venues against BIG teams – so Vegas is fitting.
