  1. Bowman isn't rushing for a McDavid extension? Sure that's what he says publicly but privately is probably freaking out that under his GM watch McDavid could leave. Not saying he will, just a possibility

  2. So only way to get arond the cap when a player's on LTIR will be that he is not playing the entire year? I just wonder what that will make in such cases like Gabriel Landeskog, would he have been off the roster for the whole season if the rule had been in place already? Will this prohibit that kind of awesome comebacks from injuries in the future when you have a player who hasn't been playing in a long time and could come back months and months after the season has started but they're not allowed because at the start of the season it was determined that they won't play this year because of the cap?

  3. Glad to hear Yvonne is well on the road to recovery!

As a hurricanes fan I agree with you about the new jerseys – they're fine. Definitely an improvement on the wordmark, at least. Could just be my personal taste, but I really think if they're gonna rebrand/redesign they should just swap the primary and secondary logos. The storm flags just look so much better!

  4. Oh wow thanks for saying Carolina is a lame team that no one cares about outside of NC. Love hearing that from you… Also fans REALLY disliked the “Candy Canes” jerseys so I don’t know where you got the idea that most people were fine with them… Also, are you listening to Carolina fans about the New Jersey or outside fans because no matter what hockey fans who aren’t Carolina fans were going to hate on them

  5. Can't wait for when there are basically no trades made at all. Then many will whine about there being no trades…

  6. I'm happy to hear Yvonne is on the mend, Shannon.

My question: Do you expect these changes to the CBA to result in a realignment of the AHL? I could foresee teams moving their affiliates closer to HQ, meaning locations such as Syracuse, Utica or Bakersfield lose their squads.

My hometown lost our AHL team, the Redwings, 25 years ago when Detroit brought the minor club to Michigan. It was devastating to the region and resulted in semi-pro clubs coming and going for the better part of two decades. At least now, we seem to have landed a stable ECHL team. That's better than nothing and I buy my season tickets.

  7. As a Canes fan that’s from Chicago and based in hockey neutral Indianapolis, I’m stoked with this new away sweater. It’s big bright and overall pretty sic! I do agree an old one or a throwback of sorts would be cool but it’s dope now!

  8. I'm sorry but regardless of the prior season stats, having PHI higher than SJ is WILD. Askarov is the best goalie prospect in the league and Ned is a very servicable backup. The flyers goaltending has been absolute trash and only thing they did is adding a backup goalie (fringe AHL goalie as well)

  9. I'm so happy to hear Yvonne is starting to turn a corner and getting better. Both of you are in our thoughts…..love you guys

  10. Ottawa nailed the jersey except for the logo. It should have been the Scooby Doo eyes logo then it would be perfect. Missed opportunity

  11. Some GMs like those of Florida and Tampa most likely are among those GMs that are unhappy about the changes to the LTIR rule. As a fan of CHL hockey, I hate the idea of our teams losing our best players to the pro leagues even sooner. About the Carolina jersey, a big part of the problem with it is their logo; people say the Habs logo is like a toilet seat, well, the Carolina logo looks like a toilet flushing.
