I fricking love ❤️ TOLOPILO!!
Love The NHL finally coming out and tackling all this circumvention (that they allowed, by not seeing these holes in the first place, but… that's another matter). The double-retention irked me more than the LTIR as well; this work-around lasts FOREVER! And so moving a $10 Mill player twice, with 50% retained each time, leaves a team in the end with a $10 Mill player but paying only $2.5 Mill for the rest of their contract; how is that even EVER allowed to be called "fair"? Idiotic from the beginning. It could have gotten WAY WORSE than it is already if more teams actually went into full rebuilds (as they should – Canucks, for the past 10 ~15 years?, for example); but most owners don't seem to care about the long term competitiveness, over the 3 dates of playoffs revenue they COULD get … OR GET REALLY LUCKY, and get to the next round before having their faces plastered to the ice… $$$$$$$$$$$$ – So less of these higher salaries have been moved. Anyway, these new playoffs Cap and other cap rules are the best thing the NHL has done in a long, LONG time!
Hey David and Harman, you two are the most levelheaded, professional, and balanced Canucks podcasters out there. Keep up the good work!
