From Playoff Rivals to Draft pick rivals.. we're always in the same place lol. This was a hell of a series, should be been closed earlier but Chicago really didn't want to go out early. We can both agree, Fuck Nashville.
No matter what side you were on, this was a game for the ages. Tense, close and a all out war. This game had the feel of a Conference final, yet it was the first round. It was to bad the blues didnt actually win it all in 2016, as this was, in my opinion, one of the best blues teams I have seen. Though 2019 they finally did it, I still feel like this was a team that should have won it.. but having the hawks in the first round really wore them down by the third round. This was all out war. Either side could of won, and both deserved to go beyond the first round.
Hockey, and all pro sports, are so much better with fans. Wish the Hawks could have kept Tereveinen and Panarin. The hard salary cap sucks- your organization scouts, drafts and develops young talent just so they can become prohibitively expensive and cornerstones of other franchises.
I was at the hospital in the waiting room watching this game . My daughter was in labor. My daughter gave birth to a healthy baby girl, about a half hour after the game. My first grandchild. The Blues put a stop to the Blackhawks winning ways. They haven’t been competitive or relevant since. What a great day!
This is my favorite series by the Blues…obviously nothing beats the 2019 cup but beating this Blackhawks team comes close. They were an unstoppable force in those years.
The Blues playoff history had always been quirky. This series and the upcoming Dallas series were great for the Blues. Of course, 2019 was the best. I think what made this special too was the Blues Black Hawks rivalry. Regardless, this is one of the best moments in Blues playoff history.
Brian Elliot was the effing man. He played amazing during this run, I wish we would have let him have the reins over Allen the previous year but we were in such a rush to get ol Jakey between the pipes.
