Owen Tippett's fate will be decided by the play of the team in the first few months of the season. If we come into the season and completely stink, Briere will trade him in a heartbeat to try to stop the bleeding. If we come out and the team is playing well, why not keep him and take it from there? Tippett is not a bad player and still has the potential to be a first liner. All depends on how the team around him plays.
I’m a big fan of tipper and York. Glad to hear someone give a reasonable take on the value they provide. Tippetts not a first line star and York’s not a top pair guy. They’re both the kind of guys that you need in your 2nd line and 2nd pair if you really want to make a run

How much better are The Flyers if they simply STOPPED reaching past the next best overall consensus pick to reach for a mid-level low ceiling NHL prospect.
Imagine if we had Caufield, Buium, and Perreault instead of Luchanko, Bonk, and York.
The Flyers would have LIGHTYEARS more elite potential guys to build around.
This is LITERALLY THE SAME ORGANIZATIONAL FAILURE WE'VE BEEN WATCHING EVERY SINGLE DRAFT FOR 10+ YEARS!!!

And for some reason every rebuilding team in the fuckin NHL can get an elite ceiling #1C with ppg+ upside within a couple years of rebuilding. Absolutely ridiculous level of failure looking at this Center core after how many years of a "Rebuild".
SJ has already drafted TWO OR THREE!!! Celebrini, Misa, Smith.
Columbus has Fantiilli.
NJ has Hughes and Hischeir.
Anaheim has Carlsson, McQueen and McTavish.
Chicago has Bedard. These are all players The Flyers wasted a shot at getting by trying to make the playoffs while knowing the team was absolute 🤡🌎💩 that couldn't make it past the 1st round if by some miracle they made a wildcard spot.
And they continue to do the same 🤡🌎💩.

York and Sanheim don't have the offensive ability to raise the levels of the forwards on the ice with them. I think this is a major shortcoming of the Flyers. They are nice players, but it will be alot easier to take the next step to the playoffs if they can find a Dman with some offensive creativity.
I don’t see where he fits considering they have Meesh TK Foerster Martone as their clear cut top 6 wingers. Then you have Bump Murtaugh Vansaghi Brink Barkey.
I believe Tippett could improve his game he's got size ,speed and good shot too maybe on the right and natural side and need the first power play, for York I'm not sure about him no grit for me
Sorry but I feel like they’re trying to make Tippett into a first line player and he’s not. I’ve been more disappointed than I’ve been impressed. At this point, I’m over the hot and cold of his game, not saying he needs to be hot all the time, but there’s no consistency with him at all. Hoping for a better season for everyone now that tortellini is gone. Good riddance to him.

This team with its ridiculous drafting skipping on Zeev and Hagens will be stuck in mediocrity. Drop the pompoms. Respect. No. They have a typical Flyers arrogance they think they are smarter than everyone else. Yet the results show otherwise.
Good analysis. He's maybe a 2nd liner, but doesn't show the grit and grind to be a stud on a third line. He really is in no man's land. And if someone offers a decent return, is move him. Let's our it this way… He's replaceable. He is what he is.
Anthony says he's being paid as a second line player . Thats what he's being used as? Absolutely not! He's been on the third line more than half the season last year. Looking forward to 2025-26 I just don't see him being used on the second line. Things are looking worse for him moving forward. Too many players not enough spots.
Tippet is going to be a star trade him then your looking to replace him

I like Tippett. He needs a playmaking Center. He’s a pure shooter
