Where does Suzuki Stand?

Nick Suzuki has quickly become the face of the Montreal Canadiens, and in this video we take a closer look at what makes him such a great captain. From being acquired in the Max Pacioretty trade, to becoming the youngest captain in franchise history, Suzuki has proven he’s the perfect leader for this new era of Habs hockey. I’ll break down his best qualities—his composure, two-way reliability, and leadership—before looking at his recent ranking as the 10th-best active centre in the NHL. And honestly… I still think that’s too low considering his iron man streak, his special teams impact, and the way he drives play in every situation.

  1. Suzuki seems to have a great demeanour. He doesn’t get rattled or emotional. He’s a very consistent player because of it and he doesn’t let the tough Montreal media get to him. This to me makes him irreplaceable. Sounds like you had a great trip Whiskey!

  2. ever since you got big, you started aiming for the 10 min youtube video to generate more ad revenue, and it shows. Feels like a little kid trying to make his presentation longer. please go back to the old format .

  3. I get it, every fan wants their players to be in the top 5, but the fact is, there are 32 teams. This guy is not better than a lot of other players but if the NHL does not have their Canadian teams in the top, it would be an absolute cry fest.

  4. we also can't forget the fact that Suzuki also got first hand experience on what a captain should be for their team AKA Shea Weber. I feel like that 2021 finals really matured Suzuki and seeing what "going to war" mentality from Shea, Price, Gally etc. defintely did wonders in moulding this new Habs lineup. Makes you feel real bad for people like Bedard who got their whole support system destroyed by terrible management, get that guy some help or better yet out of Shitcago

  5. very controversial statement but i like it, suzuki over mcdavid and draisaitl 10 times out 10 is pretty wild and bold hahaha

  6. Here is my honest opinion on Suzuki.. Before I say this I just want to say I absolutely LOVE Suzuki and hope he stays for many many years however I find he is not consistent from year to year and doesn't look like he has the confidence to be the captain of the Montreal Canadiens. That being said, he is defiantly an all star and has a lot of room to grow into the player fans except him to be and I think with the addition of these new players, IE Slaf, Hudson, Caufield and Demidov he will have the support he needs to be that 60-80 point player and has the potential to be a 80-100 point player. Every year he has gone up but he seems to slump at the worst possible times ever in the season when he is needed the most.

  7. Agreed.
Absolutely nothing not to like about the team Captain. 🙂
August soon over…tension and suspense building already.
Can't wait to see what will happen.

Aah, family life. I remember it well.
Didn't have to worry about my "role in life" at all 😀
…until the kids suddenly were adults. :O
    Your turn, young man! 😎
Must say I quite enjoy my sweet solitude and retired pensioner existence, these days, though. 😉

  8. whiskey!!!! thats a spicy meatball…..MCDAVID NOT THE BEST CENTERMAN IN THE LEAGUE?????? are u high my man hahaha thats what i call a hot take

  9. Suzuki is not done yet, 100 points is not out of the picture in the next few years. Everyone also seems to gloss over that he has never missed a game.

  10. Nick has So many things going for him but I think one thing that's really been standing out lately is his clutch factor. If we need a goal to tie or win the game, he's got the best chance of getting it. I couldn't be happier to have him as our captain and get to see him score those clutch goals in big playoff games down the road.

  11. Suzuki is my favorite Hab.
And my favorite defenseman is Guhle.
As far as the 10th spot, I am guessing that the team's lack of success, hurt his ranking.

  12. You're from Petit Rocher!? I'm from Beresford! No wonder we like old school game music and the Habs! Lol😂

  13. I liked the fact you would pick Nick Suzuki ten times out of ten ahead of McDavid…and I am sure you are not saying this because you are being subjective, but its because you, me and many see things in Suzuki that many others do not see.

  14. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Asian players seem to be quietly discriminated against. Both Suzuki and Robertson are amazing players who are constantly under rated
