Price had a good career but his time is done—-Good on the Habs to finally resolve the contract issue on Price.
It makes total sense to be further from the cap floor to create flexibility at the deadline.

As for Montreal's next move, my guess is they gained the extra cap space for Alexis Lafreniere.
Its great i think kent hughes should wait till the deadline till some team decide to sellbthe farm andbtank for Mckenna. At that point Mtl will have a ton on accumulated cap space and those team will accept prospect and picks instead of NHLers
I think GMMG did this trade to line up a you owe me a favor habs. So down the line sharks have future considerations

It's about time a real team player would take a buyout to help the team, I sure hope Montreal Canadiens don't retire his number because he's selfish and only thinking about himself.
This was huge to unload this contract. I wish Montreal did it last year, but it is what it is. Now Montreal needs to go after a #2 true center. I really think McTavish is not in the mix but sure do hope so.

A realistic player to look at for Montreal would be Pavel Zacha.He wouldn't cost much and is a center or left wing.
