Don’t remind me😭
I thought this was the Penguins trading Marino at first and my heart jumped out of my chest. Would not surprise me in the slightest
I was like wait what! Marino was traded
Oilers drafted petrov in the 6th round so I'm still happy
The Flames def deserves a comp pick on Fox
“Use him properly “ bud we didn’t even get to develop him for a second
Oh ya so unfortunate for Oielrs fans 11-3 stfu… like you said he didn't really even wana be here and he'd never played a game for us so they really didnt know what he could do in the NHL so wtf were they supposed to do get a 3rd rnd pick and a prospect no they got a 6th round pick for a 6th round pick. Speaking of 6th rounders how about the petrov kid we got with the pick Toronto didnt want!
any chance of us getting prospect update videos? players like Xavier Bourgault, matvei petrov, carter savoie, sebastion cossa, lukas riechel, J.J peterka etc and some draft prospect videos on guys like joakim kemell, jonathan lekkerimaki, etc
Guy refused to play for Edmonton, hadn't shown anything to anyone, so had no trade value at all. Big surprise, Edmonton couldn't get the value that he turned into.
Painful, why are you going over this oilers pain today?
Refused to report to the club so they didn't have a choice really.
He didn’t want to sign with us🤷♂️
He wouldn't play for us, Adam Fox 2.0 situation, thankfully he isn't nearly as good as Adam Fox but it still stings, thanks for bringing it up
There's plenty of guys who come out of south shore and other east teams who simply don't go to the ushl.
Charlie Coyle played for south shore
Charlie Coyle at 15 through 16 played for the south shore kings junior league its the EJHL
Marino was so good as a rookie, unfortunately he's gone backwards since like everyone else in Pittsburgh
Some teams need to look more add there scouting , either up grading or getting more. Some teams are better at getting mid and late round players
We'll do what Calgary did to Fox, to him here in Edmonton
Just saying Canadian teams should start implementing the US factor
The oilers are 11-3 I think they are just fine without this Marino bum
This is basically almost identical to the Calgary-Adam Fox situation.
To be fair, he made it clear he was leaving when Chiarelli was fired so it was either losing him for nothing or a pick. Pretty easy decision
Oilers had to make tough decisions on their d-core. The have an abundance of R shot dmen. They are in the 'win now' mode and unfortunatly only have so much room for rookies on the back end.
Remember that Marino was NOT motivated by playing for a Canadian team. He made this known to his team/teammates. Time will tell when he hits free-agency and no other Canadian teams will pick him up based on this conversation. Good player but he won't be cheering for Crosby during the Olympics and vise-versa.
4:03 There was no hype as much as you think there was. Defencemen takes time to develop and it takes more than ANY showing below the NHL level to even show progress.
Imagine him and Quinn Hughes !?
Am I wrong 😭 maybe Rutherford can convince him to come back to Canada 🥶
