OK Guys, in this Habs Trade Talk video, I have a little chat about Montreal Canadiens defensemen Ben Chiarot, who is on the final year of his contract, and with the Canadiens finding themselves slipping backwards this season, its a possibility that Chiarot may be traded away to a team that is looking for a stay at home defender during a long playoff run. I know the trade deadline is far away, but its easy to entertain the idea of a decent return for a guy like Chiarot.
Keep in mind, I am a huge Chiarot fan, and enjoy having him on the Habs, although with the recent signing of David Savard this season, and the singing of Joel Edmundson during last season, it makes me think even more that Chiarot may not be in the plans of the Habs moving forward.

I hope they resign him. He's one of the few bright spots on the team this year, especially with Petry being so mediocre.
I hope not.
Unless if he doesn't want to sign again, then we need to keep him. He's an essential part of this d-core and the team.

definitely the habs best d so far this season and was a key piece to that epic run the boys had last year so if you’re going to trade him you need to get back a 1st round draft pick plus
Chiarot's game has improved steadily in Montréal – he is clearly our most valuable D right now.
He'd be a helluva mentor to Guhle / trading him would make no sense at all.
Collectively, these are reasons a trade as dumb as this could happen

Chairot is having his best year. He's also gonna be 31 at end of contract. Jordan Harris is on his last year of 4 in NCAA. And has to choose between signing with Montreal, or passing and going to free agency. He's a puck moving defense man that we need. So if they trade Chairot it looks like they are making room for Harris. Then he's happy and signs. If we re sign Chariot then he probably signs with different team. Plus Guhle and Stuble are also left D. So we have enough left d. So trading Chariot is best move

if we going for real rebuild and can ge t a first then go ! it gonna suck but we need to do it. The only thing that scares me is we caint really do true rebuild while we're stuck with Carey Price, gonna need to retain like 50 % of his salary or maybe even lose a pick if we wanna get rid of that !
I'd honestly say that at this point a trade wouldn't really make sense. He has developed his game and I feel as though he's molded himself into his jersey on this team. Petry has not been performing upto standards, and in my eyes to this point Chiarot should be an alternate. Gallagher, Suzuki, and Chiarot should be the three A's in my opinion.
Savard is worst than Alzner . What was MB thinking when he picked up this d man.
